Hi,
I have had an issue with a mini 2. On two occasions it has for no reason suddenly stopped all its motors and dropped like a stone out of the sky. On the first occasion it was a few seconds into a test fly out of the box. I hadn't gone more than a few feet in any direction as I was just getting oriented with the drone and equipment. I had to wait a few days for a weekend (I live in the UK and it does not get light before or after work now) to try it out again as I thought as I am a "newbie" I had somehow touched some emergency cut off such as the stick maneouvre for collision avoidance (I did read the instructions so was aware of this). Again I had it running. Wiith caution I managed to fly it  around the garden maybe for 15 mins (kept v low). I had it in a hover maybe 5ft off the ground. Was not touching any controls, battery was pretty full so no probems there and again without any warning all motors stopped and the drone just cut out and hit the deck.

I contacted the UK drone repair specialists for DJI and they have advised me that this is not a problem with my phone (1st time was using an iPhone 6 with IoS V11+ and 2nd time an iPhone 7, no wind warnings and no rain etc) as the processing all takes place in the controller and drone itself. They think it could be problem with the drone / controller. I'm currently waiting to contact DJI post sales help (unfortunately not available outside 9-5 mon-fri) and have repar refresh. It has damaged the gimbal so there is a warning that says gimbal stuck. I'm reluctant to use up one of my Refresh repairs if the damage was caused by a fault in the drone itself which would be a warranty issue plus the drone is essentially unsafe in this state.

I'm interested to hear from anyone on the forum if they have had a similar experience with their Mini 2 cutting out for no reason. I did see one YouTube video where someones drone decided to descend into a canyon of its own accord and the owner had lost all control for a time before managing to regain.

If people are interested I can update as things progress.

I can't see how to start a new thread. I have a startup issue, I download the APK file for the Mini2, it  goes thru the install process then says its not installed. Any ideas?

I am sorry to hear about the accident that happened to your drone. Please send the drone back to our service center for further diagnosis and service.
Please fill out the online repair request on our official web and then send the drone back https://www.dji.com/service/repair?site=brandsite&from=nav
Please remember to tick "Apply for data analysis" when filling in the info, data analysis can be processed as long as the drone is within the warranty period and the corresponding offer will be provided based on the analysis result.

Hi there, could you please tell me the mobile device you are using? You may try to download and install it from Google Play. If it still doesn't work, it is recommended to use a compatible mobile device, thank you for your understanding. 1.png 2.png

Hello,
I tried the link and it links to a page that no longer exists. Is it better to go through the Care refresh program as I have that. I have been given conflicting advice from a number of DJI representatives. These have included:
We will call you; keep you line clear for contact.   No-one has called yet
Do not complete the repair form until you have discussed with someone on the number provided: called the number but only manned Monday-friday 9am-4pm
Now: send for repair and complete form.

I am now confused: What is the correct response and what is the quickest way to have this resolved. I ordered my drone on 5th November and there was a delay n it arriving and now appears faulty. I wish to have this resolved as soon as possible and I would not like an excessive delay in sending it to the Netherlands from the UK and back plus the loss of further costs in the process plus a loss of one of my repairs if the cause of the problem is a faulty drone.

I am not one to complain usually but this is frustrating to say the least.

Many thanks

Hi there, I am sorry for the link issue, it has been adjusted, please check again.
As you mentioned that the accident was not caused by the operation error, I would suggest that you go through the normal repair process and apply for data analysis.
Our engineers will check the data and find out the cause of the accident, if it is confirmed that the accident was not a pilot error, you don't need to pay the service or DJI Care Refresh replacement.
