Completely different cameras.  Mini is 2.7K and Mini 2 is 4K.  Better processor on the Mini 2 and it has Occusync 2.0 which greatly increases signal stability and range.

See what camera the Mavic Mini 2 has, exactly the same as the Mavic Mini 1. In the new version it was possible to do 4K and raw and in the Mini there is no chance.

You are right.  My bad.  Hopefully everything else is the same in the parts for the camera functions.  Maybe DJI will release a firmware update to enable this.

I have a friend who has the fimi x8 se 2020, it's a good drone but bcp heavier, it makes the sound of a lawnmower, the 2.7K video of the MM and better than the 4k fimi even I was friend recognized.
The only interesting thing is the automatic mode but that are still quite limited.
Dji despite their poor follow-up remains the No. 1

Just because the camera can do 4K doesn't mean the entire system, camera plus controller IC, can support it either.  

Could be memory bandwidth issues, thermal issues, power consumption issues, who knows.  

I don't think DJI is trying to screw their customers.

I'm very happy with my Mini 1, which I bought in October. I don't need 4K and like the smaller controller of the Mini 1 over the huge controller for the Mini 2.  I don't ever fly beyond visual range, so Ocusync is of little benefit to me, I'd rather have the smaller controller.   If I had the Mini 2 I'd have it shoot 2.7K anyway because my older computer can't really deal with 4K video editing but has no issues with the 2.7K files.

When I buy anything I look at the specifications and decide whether the price/benefit ratio is there for my needs.   If the company comes out the next day with a better product, I still made that choice.  DJI offers a trade-up program, or I could sell my Mini 1 on the open market if I needed the features of the Mini 2, but I don't.

I have zero expectation of seeing 4K on my Mini 1.

it depends I have both each and good in his field to say that the mini has a better camera I'm not so sure! but I like both, they complement each other very well and I will see in time how DJI will evolve in its policy for another DJI drone or another brand like an Autel evo 2.

L'evo 2, it was the drone I wanted to buy instead of the mavic air 2 but the weight made me back, more than 1kg,
