Looks like litchi will bring waypoints to Mavic mini, although in next update. Many features added list below available now in iOS as well as android.

Not a good idea on the mini..... It might blow away................. Would be nice on the MA2 and MM2

It will be for Mini 2, no matter what craft you’re using you still have control to quit waypoints, so flying away will be no worse with waypoints than flying .

Litchi will more than like not be able to support the Mini 2 or Mavic Air 2 until the aircraft specific SDK is released.  The Air 2 SDK has been delayed until the end of the month and hopefully we will get it sometime this year.

I had access to the beta early on, the mini was supported within the first 2 weeks of the sdk release but a large majority of features had to be re-written for virtual stick and has been the reason for the delay. They said waypoints would be out at launch and as you can see that got delayed, but with all the ground work laid out thanks to the mini the MA2 should be an easier adaptation as the virtual stick code support now exists.

I agree with you. "Waypoints" looks like as safe/unsafe as a normal fly.
Even with no signal it will finish it's mission and return home (the last waypoint should always be home point)

With such a speedie DJI - for Mini 2 maybe end of 2021....

Litchi's help is a bit outdated, that's for the old existing DJI supported way-points. The mini 1, Air 2, mini 2 only support Virtual Stick way-points that REQUIRE and active radio connection otherwise the mission is canceled and returns to home.

The original way-point system would upload it's mission directly to the drone, and it could fly autonomously without connection. DJI removed support for this system starting with the mini 1 and followed by the Air 2 and so on. No explanation has been provided as to why, much speculation on no O/A on the mini 1 but when the MA2 was denied support that theory went out the window. It's now suspected DJI isn't going to include those features on it's "Entry" level products and is reserved for it's Mavic Pro/Phantom series but only time will tell.

you can when flying waypoints set the speed increase manually with pushing stick forward

Cruising Speed: Defines the autonomous flight speed of the aircraft. If you do not use the remote controller's right joystick (mode 2) during the mission, the speed the aircraft will travel at is the cruising speed. Can be set to negative values if you want the aircraft to travel backwards autonomously. Can be adjusted while the mission is in progress.

Max Flight Speed: If you use the remote controller's right joystick (mode 2) while the mission is in progress, you can increase the speed of the aircraft up to the "Max Flight Speed".

This is why you need to fix this issue, because most of us need to use the waypoints on our Mini 2.

We have no choice but to use other 3rd parties to do this simple task!
