Hallo DJI fans!

I like new Mini 2 drone a lot, it's a big step beside the mini 1! But I can't understand, why there is no Focus track (Spotlight) in manual mode? It's available in almost all quick shots automatic modes, but not in usual manual mode.
As we can see there is no hardware or software limitations for it's working, there is no need in additional sensors and this mode is very useful for consumers. It can help to make picture more smooth in manual mode. I use this mode on my another drone, but I can't fly with a big drone in the city because of local terms of limitations.

DJI, can you add this feature in further firmware?

These suggestion was made a long time ago for the Mini 1 too, but like nearly all other suggestions it was ignored.

There is no obstacle aviodance sensors for active track, so i think DJI never unlock it, but there is no limitations for unlocking focus track in manual mode. This in only feature for camera/drone automatic rotation tracking the object, it's easy, it's safe. Also it's almoust works on this drone in quickshots.

I agree, and then as it turns out badly, the litchi developers can make active track, and the DJI drone developer signs his inability!

Hello, it would be great if you unlock this feature for manual mode.  Focus Tracing had been made to quick shot, and i bet you can unlock it for manual mode too. Do it please.

Even if active-track is technically possible with warnings, focus track is even more relevant.

A lot of people - me included - were hoping to get at least RAW photos in the Mini 1. We didn't. Instead they released the Mini 2. It is annoying but not likely that DJI will change this policy. There will probably be a Mini 3 next year that will feature OA and all the tracking modes of the Air 2. Don't hope for features to come in the future that aren't there when you buy the drone. That's why I bought the Air 2 now. It already has everything i'll ever need.

Yeah I was really surprised to see spotlight missing from the mini 2, litchi's spotlight hardly works compared to DJI's built in system.

It would be safer too, because you will concentrate more on controlling the drone (and avoid any possible obstacles) instead of looking only at your screen, trying to keep the subject in focus.
So, considering DJi did not added active track with our safety in mind, they should add this

Indeed, as rightly pointed out here, the focus track helps to concentrate on the visual control of the drone, which even increases safety. You are always sure that the subject is in the frame and you only follow the drone, and do not look at the phone.

Just wait for firmware or dji app update, if there's none of them added this feature until last firmware, it's likely will add later on mini 3 or whatever with OA sensor if there any leak next year
Or wait for sdk and wait again until 3rd party software implement this feature like mini 1 does with litchi

I think that the camera will automatically rotate following the object, if the angle of rotation is not enough, the drone will rotate around its axis, while the drone will only be able to fly to the sides in manual mode.

In fact, I think that everything will depend on the level of sales of the Mini 2, if they are low, they will most likely make concessions, if not, then not.

I afraid that (unfortunately) DJI included in software already all functions which were worth to include from the business point of view. I would not expect any additional functions. Admins here has to be very "diplomatic" - most probably DJI expects that kind behaviour from them.

Release the SDK asap!!!

The key mistake in your statements is that you think this is a new feature that needs to be added. But it is already in the software! Although it works only in the quick shooting modes.
Nothing NEW! DJI just need to allow it's use in manual mode.

Will happen at the end of life of Mini 2 - so in 1-2 years. Usual politic of DJI.

Add these too strong words, DJI just needs to unlock an opportunity that already exists!

And it would not be bad to unlock 2.7 to 60 fps!

I started to think that the drone lack of ability to really track anything. The FlyApp probably do all the calculations for the QuickShot and locking the subject, and then just send the predefined path to the drone to do Circle for example.

This is a very good idea. I think this will be the most desired feature. I will be happy if DJI adds this to DM2.

Definitely wouldn't mind DJI adding focus track to the mini2, but I wish they would at least add it to my Mavic2 Pro!!! It really seems this is DJI's policy to force people to buy new models. DJI if you're not releasing the Mavic3 anytime soon then PLEASE add focus track to the Mavic2!!!
