What about the Sony APSC cameras like  the A6400? Will the Cable work with them now, too?

I wish they can get this to work alongside the a6500, too. It seems like it only works through USB C.

Thanks for quick support of Nikon Z6 II.

I have installed the new firmware on my RSC2 and the update was successful, was confirmed by the Ronin app. Also the display on the gimbal shows the latest version has been installed.

However, the announced Nikon Z6 II support does not work for me.

- My Z6 II does not get recognized by the gimbal.

- The camera icon does not show up on the gimbal display.
- None of the RSC2 controls work (record button, index finger wheel etc.)

I have used the supplied DJI USB-C to USB-C cable for connection.

Before the firmware update, at least the camera got recognized. Now, nothing at all.

I have restarted both the Nikon Z6II and the DJI RSC2 gimbal. The iOS app I've restarted also.
As lens I'm using Nikkor Z 24-70 f2.8 S.

Did anybody get the RSC2 to control Nikon Z6 II? Anything I'm doing wrong?

I am using a Nikon Z6II with a Nikkor 24-70 f.28 lens.
I have updated the firmware on my gimbal. I turned off the gimbal and the smartphone Ronin application.
I am using a Samsung S7 Android phone on the phone mount. I also am using a Samsung Note20 for remote.
When I restarted gimbal and application the first time, the smartphone application hung while connecting to my gimbal. I turned gimbal and smartphone application off again.
I restarted the mobile phone. I turned on the gimbal first, and waited for the menu to show. Then I turned on the smartphone and started the ronin application.
The application connected to the gimbal in less than 5 seconds.
The gimbal now works in every respect. Camera movement, start record, stop record, snapshot. All gimbal menu options that I have tried work correctly.
I now have to connect raveneye and focus motor (for zoom) and test those.
I am pleased with the firmware update, which has fixed the problems I had with the RSC2 gimbal.
Thank you, DJI

Thanks RocDoc for your detailed explanation.
Unfortunately, camera connection to Z6 II still does not work for me.

May I ask which firmware you are running on the Z6 II? Have you already updated to v1.01 which Nikon released last week?

I am running Nikon firmware v1.01 and the DJI app checklist shows an exclamation mark for Camera Control Cable. It is the supplied cable, which was working fine before. Have also tried another data-capable USB-C cable, same issue.

Update: I have also tried to connect my other camera, Nikon Z50. I have the same problem. The RSC2 does not show camera icon and camera cannot be controlled. So it seems to be an issue with my RSC2, not with the Nikon Z6 II or Z50.

I will contact DJI support.

Any ETA on a firmware update for the RSC 2/Raveneye to work with the new Fujifilm X-S10?  I have all three of you need hands-on testing. Unfortunately the X-T4/USB-C method doesn’t work with the X-S10 (the X-S10 just reboots repeatedly while connected to the RSC 2 via USB-C) and the DJI Fuji cable uses a 2.5mm plug while the X-S10 has a 3.5mm remote jack.

It's not in the devices compatibility list, but I want to advice that the RSC2 gimbal can fits the camcorder Sony FDR AX700 (even with the longer battery NP FV100A) without any issue and controls both the start/stop recording with its dedicated switch and the zoom using the front wheel. I'm very satisfied and I'm pleased to share it.

Hello.

I can't get my Sony A7sIII to work with RSC 2 with USB type C that was in the box. I have the latest Firmware on RSC 2 ( v01.01.00.10)  and my Sony A7SIII. When i connect the USB C cable I get black screen on Sony with USB MODE - MTP that i cant get rid off. There is no option in Sony to select PC remote ( it is in Auto ). If i use cable for Sony everything works but I cant set front wheel for autofocus, ISO, aperture ect.

How can i fix this ?

Thank you!

I found the solution myself. Sony changed menus on A7sIII ( from A7III ) so PC remote option is under TRANSFER/REMOTE - PC REMOTE FUNCTION and not under USB Connection and you have to turn it On.  You can leave the post if it helps someone else too.

The z6ii was added to this release, but raveneye seems to be slightly broken for it. If I use just the gimbal with the camera, focus and shutter work perfectly. When I add in the RavenEye, I can no longer use the camera's focus system, and the record button on the gimbal is functionless. I can however press the record button in the Ronin App and it triggers the record on the camera.

Using Panasonic G9, the gimbal failed to control the camera after hot plugging the camera control cable. This issue has not be fixed (or the usb-c port is broken)
I am not able to control start/stop recording, focus, aperture, ISO... anything!.

Hey Y'all!

I noticed a bug with the latest firmware 2020.11.25 Firmware: v01.01.00.10

Bug: If I connect my Panasonic Lumix GH5 to the gimbal using the USB-C and change a setting in the "creative video mode" menu from the menu button, the gimbal will no longer be able to pull focus while the camera is recording.

Summary:
I'm using a Panasonic Lumix GH5 with a Panasonic LUMIX G Leica DG SUMMILUX Lens, 15MM, F1.7 ASPH lens. Using the USB-C and PC Tether mode, the Ronin RSC-2 is able to pull focus of the Panasonic in both photo and video modes. HOWEVER, if I am using "creative video mode" and use the menu button > creative video > exposure mode > and select P, A, S, or M; the ronin will no longer be able to pull focus while recording. The record functionality button still works with the gimbal, and when not recording the gimbal can still pull focus. BUT as soon as the camera begins recording, it no longer pulls focus.

Turning the camera and gimbal off and on again, does not fix this issue.
Reverting the setting back to it's original setting, does not fix this issue.
Updating the firmware on the gimbal, does not fix this issue.
Changing any of the other "creative video mode" settings, does not trigger this bug.

The only solution that I have found, is by resetting the camera back to it's factory settings. This will then allow for the gimbal to pull focus when recording.

ONE MORE THING, just to make things even more confusing. If I'm in "creative video mode" and use the LCD panel to adjust the exposure mode to P, A, S, or M, this will not cause the gimbal to stop being able to pull focus. The gimbal will continue to function normally. HOWEVER, if I go to the menu button, and go through the above steps, it will trigger the bug, and the gimbal will no longer be able to pull focus.

Hopefully all this info, will help any other Panasonic Lumix GH5 users, and the DJI development team. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
