DJI Mini 2 - How HIGH can it fly?

Very impressive!

It is not very good to test the maximum modes in places where the drone can fall on the head of someone else besides the tester, and even more so in the city.
And enable automatic subtitle creation!

The max altitude is about 500 meters from the altitude it took off... but if you could hack the firmware the max physical altitude should be about 4500 meters or so (as it can takeoff at 4k meters according to the instructions).

In sports mode it climbs at about 18Km/h at sea level, but as you go higher it'll have a hard time climbing as the air gets thinner and the temperature goes down. The less temperature the sooner the battery drains, so you'll run out of battery before reaching 4K meters (starting at sea level) and the drone will fall. You probably won't damage a thing with such a little drone, but your drone will be FUBAR (if you manage to find it).

There's one ass*** on youtube that flew a high weight drone to super high altitude, los signal and the drone just felt like a stone. You don't want to be like that guy.

The default 500 meters DJi fly cap is more than enough to fly safely, and still be able to climb mountains; if you want more altitude just take off from a higher place.

I only climbed once at 500m on a rural area to test the drone... and never climbed that high again, I usually stay on the 30-70 meters altitude because is where the good shots are. Anyone can do a high altitude flight at fast speed and record it on a plane or an helicopter... but slooowly flying at low altitudes like any bird out there... that's a thing only drones can do.

Like using a little RC boat in the middle of the ocean and expect to hit something... I live in a very unpopulated area far away from any airfield or air routes.

It's far more "dangerous" to fly at low altitude VLOS with birds, lamposts, buildings, trees, etc all over the place and you can do it legally because C0 class drones are mostly harmless to everything. Weight way less than birds like magpies or seagulls for example, that are virtually everywhere.

The video on the starting message for example is way (waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay...) more dangerous that what I did once, wich was just climb like a balloon, hit 500 and go down asap.
