I suppose that many of you already know it, but the next day 30 is expected to launch the SDK for the MA2, with all that this implies.

What is SDK???

SDK allows developers to create native Windows, iOS and Android applications, which can remotely control DJI drones, such as autonomous flight, creating flight control applications such as Litchi or even, implemented new video transmission protocols. The SDK will also allow the integration of third-party hardware such as multispectral cameras, thermographic cameras for drones, stabilizers such as the Ronin MX or other components that exponentially increase the functionalities and applications of drones.

It maybe possible to change the signal from CE to FCC or Boost with third-party firmware mods/hacks.

I wonder this means that DJI will abandon the MA2 for significant upgrades and adding new functions? that's kind of what happened to the MM

I think that DJI will continue to add new feature and support for the Mavic Air 2. The Original Mini became antiquated by the release of Mini 2. Once a new version of the Air is released the need for adding features will no longer be an emphasis  for DJI.

Litchi tech support has said that native waypoints IS NOT SUPPORTED. Sorry guys. A big screw you to DJI for this.

Yep, I guess if you want waypoints you need to buy a 2+ year old drone.  Joy.

I’d rather buy an up to date competitor product like Autel Evo. Or a Hubsan.

Why give more money to DJI who will drop features like flies.

Well, Autel Evo is in the price range of the Mavic Pro 2, 60% more money in my country.

I'm really mad at this moment, I hoped to buy a drone this year and DJI screwed it up with their products.
The MA2 has no waypoints and it is over 500g so you need an aditional certificate to fly it in Europe after 01.01.2021. if it doesn't receive the C1 mark. DJI hasn't said anything about that.
Then we have the MA1 somewhere still in stock, it is <500g so you can fly it in Europe with only a basic online certificate, has waypoints, but is very loud, has smaller sensor and bad controler-drone link (wifi)

There is the Mini 2 also, but I don't know if DJI will ever release SDK for it to enable virtual sticks. I would like to use the drone for basic mapping and without waypoints/virtual sticks it's just a toy for me. Why buy a toy for 1000€ (MA2) when you have the same functions for 600€ (Mini2) + you have no problems with EU law after 01.01.2021.

DJI flushed the MA2 down the toilet for some reason

Ma2 will have virtual sticks and I think it can do mapping. Just probably not cinematic preplanned videography, which will need waypoints. And of course it will only be within rc signal control. The more likely reason for the exclusion of waypoints is to disallow out of rc range flights.
