I hadn't noticed the pattern before, but today I solved stage 4 of a puzzle geocache and when I looked where it was on satellite view it was right by this water way.

Back then the whole place was a dense forest which was all cut down to make ships.

I'm picturing the endless vistas of trees I saw driving north up through Sweden.  That's predominantly Pine and Conifers though.
