How to get even exposure on a hyperlapse of a sunset?

I took a 40-minute motion hyperlapse of a sunset, one frame every 3 seconds, and I noticed that the exposure wasn't especially even. If you watch this 6-second clip (sped up 2x in post), you'll notice the sun vibrating in size, and the exposure level vibrating in synchronicity with the sun. Can I prevent that from happening? Or is there a way to fix this in post?
My mobile device is a Samsung Note 20 Ultra.

You need to adjust the YouTube permissions on your video so we can see it.

Did you use auto exposure or manual exposure?  I'd be interested to know if/how you were able to overcome the pulsing. Thank you.

Hi, auto exposure. I posted this a few years ago. In the meantime, what I learned is that this is due to the way the camera quantizes shutter speed, since the aperture is fixed. That is, the shutter speed stays the same until it passes a certain point of being more dark as the sun sets, and then the shutter speed jumps to the next slowest setting. It's this jump that causes the pulsing / flashing. It's an artifact with most cameras doing time lapses of sunsets or similar.

There may be a fix but I haven't found one.

There may be a fix but I haven't found one.

One simple fix is to use ND filter 8x or more to elongate the exposure time & then use 3 second interval that will reduce the exposure difference between shots & make it a smooth exposure ramping.

Another solution if you dont have ND filters is to use 1 sec time interval instead of 3 sec.

Hope this helps.
