Hello there Caranx. I am sorry for the trouble this has caused and thank you for reaching out. Can you please try using a different recommended mobile device to see if the issue will still persist? In addition, in Follow Me mode a virtual tether is created between the aircraft and the mobile device so that the aircraft can track your movement as you move. Note that Follow Me performance is subject to the GPS accuracy on the mobile device. Thank you.
The ipad I used has no gps but it did originally work with follow me mode I can attack the video for proof. Is there a wifi possibility or some other connection that would allow this combination to work?

Not sure how Follow Me could work w/o a GPS signal on the followed device, did you have a wifi connection at the time? But even then I'm unsure you'd have an actionable GPS input -- are you sure you used Follow Me and not ActiveTrack?
BTW, Follow Me is unreliable at best -- I've had luck at a given location only to return another day and have no luck at all -- it's entirely dependent upon the accuracy of GPS signal reported by the smartphone or pad, which can vary depending on how many satellites are currently overhead. You need a much more accurate GPS location to use Follow Me than to actually fly.
I personally use active track more than Follow me because the mobile sends the wrong GPS data to the AC and the AC is flying after mobiles wrong data. And that can cause the most Fly away of the AC. If the AC loses the target on Active track the AC will hover on place of targetloss and will not fly further.
