Finally! A break in the weather long enough to nip outdoors and experiment
Had to scale the resulting composition down quite a bit to meet the 2Mb constraint of the DJI Filter

Just a long enough pause in the constant rain to nip across the road and down into the gorge. It's raining again now

Not sure if you can, but I usually set the exposure compensation to -0.7 or even further down to get a well exposed sky (and bring back the dark areas in post)

I'm still finding my way around the various menus on this thing. It's so tiny they're not the easiest of things to locate   One thing at a time, I'm learning a bit more each day

I totally get that.
The upside is : there is a screen (so you don't need a phone per se)
The downside is obvious....
It is tiny.

Apart from connecting the smartphone to the Pocket 2 one time in order to register the device with DJI, I haven't connected it since.  I consider the connector to be much too flimsy (weak) and at great risk of sustaining damage without some additional kind of support between the two devices.

Thanks AJ. I did a similar one and this time I rendered it with M/Soft ICE rather than the DJI offering..  I think it's slightly better.

My thoughts exactly.
I think I will do with just the P2 and nothing more.

I do find the do-it-all handle quite useful, but i's a nuisance having to disconnect it to download to the PC. It should be possible to do so through the USB port of the handle, but it doesn't work for some reason.

I have heard that one before indeed.

I will have to figure out if the device alone is 'enough'.
Maybe with just the tripod mount mounted.
Or does that not make enough difference?

I have little use for that wireless mic, so the creator combo feels a bit too much for me (but the handle alone is almost as pricey as the combo, so in a way it is sort of a waste not to get that one)
But I rather just buy the device than spend and extra €140 on the combo.
Also because I wonder if it makes the thing more 'top heavy' on a tripod and therefore more vulnerable to the wind.
(the OM1 had this issue a lot, and even with P2 I see some hiccups in motion timelapses that could be caused by the wind)

The folding tripod supplied would be OK with just the camera on it , but it would perhaps be easy to overbalance in a strong wind - particularly when you consider adding the do-it-all handle. Also, it does not stand vertically, due to its design (retracting in a circular fashion) It relies on the gimbal resetting to horizontal when switched on. There is a secondary screw hole on the plastic pocket where, it is suggested, you can store the tripod when not in use. Unfortunately - again due to constraints of design - this leaves the attachment sticking out at an awkward angle where it impedes holding, and snags on clothing pockets when trying to put it away.

If I'm not mistaken, there is a small tripod mount that you can 'mount' to the P2 (instead of the do it all handle).

Or did I completely misread the accessoire list?

No you're quite right, but it's the screw on the min-tripod that isn't in the vertical axis when placed on a flat horizontal surface. SO the camera has a distinct lean. when switched on, the gimbal self-corrects to horizontal.

That is a weird design choice.

I am wondering if the tripod mount would be sufficient to give the P2 a bit more length for comfortable holding?

There's a longer handle but it's an additional £69 which is excessive. (Exorbitant is the word I would use)

Yeah I see it.
Weird.

Right. I've made some discoveries in the last half hour by experimenting.
The bottom cap of the camera detaches, as you know, to allow the addition of the accessories.
It comes off quite easily, and the do-it-all handle replaces it satisfactorily. It has a screw thread for the tripod mount. There is also a smaller attachment instead of the other two, which is just a tripod mount.
All this, I'm sure you know. But once attached, the tripod mount is the absolute devil to get off again, as someone already reported in my thread "A word of warning". I used the tripod as leverage to aid the detaching - and in doing so, un-noticed, twisted the screwthread out of vertical alignment. This is what was causing the lean!  I've twisted it back to vertical now. So you can disregard the comments about leaning

Indeed the tripod has a tiny ball joint so you can angle it as required - and fold it flat against the case after use.

There are many designs of phone-and-pocket holders on the market - my favourite is from StartRC which mounts the camera behind the phone, not beside it.  And you can attach a mini tripod beneath which when folded makes a handle, and when unfolded allows you to put the whole thing down.

Hmmm.
But I will deed it to attach it to a tripod if I don't get the diah right?
And is there other things you can't do with the tripod mount mounted?
(is there a reason to take it off if you don't have the diah)?
