That is too bad.
I was hoping it would make the P2 a bit longer.

Only by about a centimetre at most.

Indeed the tripod has a tiny ball joint so you can angle it as required - and fold it flat against the case after use.

There are many designs of phone-and-pocket holders on the market - my favourite is from StartRC which mounts the camera behind the phone, not beside it.  And you can attach a mini tripod beneath which when folded makes a handle, and when unfolded allows you to put the whole thing down.

It looks a sturdy bit of kit. Not sure I would use one even so.

Hmmm.
But I will deed it to attach it to a tripod if I don't get the diah right?
And is there other things you can't do with the tripod mount mounted?

I've just woken up and it took me a few moments to realise what you meant by a diah
Yes it the attachment for fixing to a tripod - whether it be the supplied mini-tripod or a much bigger one.
It's a standard tripod mount fitting.

I get it.
It is something to take into consideration.
My main use will probably tripod mounted timelapses, but I'm not sure yet.
That is my experience from OM1 (but that required my phone, so it was a limitation because I also needed my phone for other things)
I will give it a good thought while I wait and start refilling the gadget funds

If that would be your main use, perhaps it would not be an issue for you if the tripod attachment were difficult to detach, as you'd probably leave it on permanently.  I have a standard collapsible tripod which I would use rather than the little folding one supplied with the Pocket 2.  Everything in the Creator Combo had been designed with the focus on miniaturisation, to the point where it has about reached its limit in my view. I shall use the Diah   more or less permanently, and since that has a tripod mount in the base all my options are covered.

With the pocket 2 it's possible to have the phone and tripod mount in use at the same time, of course.

True.
That small tripod is maybe good for indoor use behind a window (on a flat surface) but I don't see much use for that too.

I might try to find a local dealer so I can try it out in my hands before buying.
It is hard to envision something based on experiences with another product.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Yeah indeed.
Wireless connection of the diah is nice, but I think I will like the 'phoneless' approach more because of my experiences with using the OM1 (and not being able to use my phone while doing so).
Also it drained my phone like crazy, so the shooting experience was very limited.

Apart from first registering the device with DJI, I haven't used the Mimo App at all with the P2, nor my phone.

Doesn't seem that wide for a pano,  was that a 3x3?   Also if you reply to your own thread there is no image size limitation.

Yes I've been doing 3x3 for the moment. Tried 180 this morning. Results to follow.  That's a handy tip about file restriction lifted when replying to one's own thread. I didn't know that.

Hmm. That result wasn't overwhelming though.  It doesn't have the definition of the original.  Looks as though it's been through compression en route.

A second Pano, this time using Microsoft ICE rather than the DJI Media Maker

I think the Microsoft ICE one is a bit better.

Some areas are less than ideal underfoot, but the pathways are fine.

Thats very simular to my local walk,  the gravel paths are nice but the walks through the fields that are parallel are a nightmare now.

I went to the sea wall the other day on Canvey because its concrete we thought it would be a nice clean place,   unfortunately sections were closed and the diversion was over muddy on the side of a slope.  Then on the way back it got so busy we ended up leaving the main path to avoid the crowds.   Teach me to go to canvey.

Doesn't seem that wide for a pano,  was that a 3x3?   Also if you reply to your own thread there is no image size limitation.

Here's another attempt. Stitched with the DJI Media Maker App for Windows, from a 3x3.  Unrefined, the original file is 6.48 Mb.  You'll see the curved effect imparted too, which isn't ideal. I'll try again later with Microsoft ICE, which might straighten it out but with drastic cropping.  I've yet to try the Mimo App.

And this is the best I could manage with M/Soft ICE @ 12.2 Mb  actual size
