This isssue has caused several drones to be returned unnecessarily, wasting time, effort and flying time for drone owners. It also incurs expense for DJI where it could have been avoided by better documentation or better trained DJI support staff.
There are already many sticky posts on this forum so adding another is probably not a good idea. DJI - how about combining key alerts, including the file name length restriction, into one consolidated “latest guidance” sticky post here? The drones should be shipped with documentation referring to this. It used to be called release notes in days gone by.
I had the same problem on a 1 month old Mini 2. I removed the card, one that I had grabbed from my box of microsd cards, and replaced it with the original with correct file names. After several attempts, I finally got it to pair up. Flew the re-paired drone for 30 minutes, changed batteries tired it again and it seems to be working fine. Won't say the problems is solved until I have some more flight time to assure the problem does not happen again. Obviously, this is a software issue and needs fixing, too many people are reporting the same problem. This is my first DJI product and I was expecting a more robust and reliable data link after reading all the glowing reviews. So where is it?? |
