After FW update, I can no longer change camera settings. I press button above shutter and it just switches between pics and video now. Also cannot select pro shots (panoramic, etc) Did they change this?

I figured it out. You must have the SD card installed to change the settings.

Can someone please confirm that there is no extra crop at the 4K mode with the new firmware? Just to make sure they did not simply crop in to fix the orange line issue...

after 01.2.000 firmware. Battery depletion in 5 mins is about 15%. Need others to check as well. So that should make it 30 minutes. More testing is needed.

I noticed that after installing the latest update to the drone software for the MIINI 2, there was a listing of all the new tweaks but also mentioned you need the latest 1.2.2 Fly Me app to take advantage of new features. I went to the Play Store for Android but the latest version there is 1.2.1. I went to DJI.com and they do have the latest version there. The latest version is needed to access the newest features according to the firmware list of features.
The update fixes a lot of things and yes it fixed the DNG issue and color streak at the top left of the screen in 4K.  It also seems to have improved the link stability of the connection.
While we get impatient when we find glitches, it is nice that DJI does listen to us and work hard to implement fixes.
By the way....for those that have the IMU message to calibrate again....that is because you are using the "catch in hand" landing and turning it upside down to turn the drone off. Once you use a hand catch to stop the drone it is seen as an error in IMU and requires a calibration again.
I didn't compare old vs. new to see if they used cropping to eliminate the color streak but I don't believe they did.

A question for the dji technical staff.  Some argue that after each firmware update you must do all the drone calibrations even if not required or written in the manual.  is it possible to know if it is necessary?  Thanks in advance.

I just bought a mini 2 and updated to firmware 01.01.0700 and it worked perfectly. Later yesterday came a new version 01.02.0000 which I saw updated to. I was so out trying very short today on the same route men lost contact many times, got warning about Warming Zones. Even when it was less than 100 meters away, and at a time of approx. 500 meters I completely lost connections and it came back on RTH.

Has anyone else experienced it?

Hello #djimini2 users - thanks for your helpful tips with flying here, it's been mega useful!

It's my first forum post here. My original aircraft went missing, so I ordered a new one. After the latest update, the app seems to be still linked to the previous aircraft as I've been unable to link the controller and app to the new aircraft following all the recommended tips. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Any advice would be welcome.

Can we get a DJI Assistant 2 update please? I much prefer to update via DJI Assistant rather then having to use the app. Especially if we need to refresh the firmware

I never usually post in forums. Love the mini 2. But this December firmware update has cut my distance  in half. Lots of interference alerts where I never had them before.  Noticed they did fix the function button to have some options to choose from on android.

I noticed the same thing on my flight this morning using my Android phone.  Lots of new interference warnings.  The app also crashed on me twice during a 20 min flight.  Both times I had to restart the app and it reconnected with the mini 2 but then it wasn't as responsive due to interference warnings.

I am happy to announce the battery issue has been update today I got the message to update battery firmware and after which battery life is solid during flight. Thanks a lot dji foe listening now please add follow me.

I've done a long range test right now and wow, the signal is suuuuper stable now.

I've been flying in an area where before I had some reconnection issues (2-4  times per flight) and now I didn't get a single one.

Agreed. So much better now, instead of cutting in and out, now it’s just a slightly longer response time from moving the drone, to seeing it on screen

Yes.these are li-ion. They can be charged at pretty much any state.just make sure you let it cool down a little bit if it’s right after a flight.

The mini 1 was LiOn. The Mini 2 is LiPo so needs more maintenance supervision.

Hi everyone,
i have an issue with the latest firmware update. I did it correctly, it shoes me on the remote controller informations that the latest firmware is installed, but it's working like with the old one so...no new mini map, no FN button settings, and also no changes in 2.7K fps(still 30fps max).
Am i the only one with this problem?

Hi, got the same issue, also does not show me the new mini map and can not change the FN button settings.
I have sent a request also via e-mail, if i got an answer from DJI i'll let you know on this post.

Hi man, sorry for the second reply but I've got the solution!!
May i suggest youbhave an Android phone, as i do with the same issue...go to the downloads page of DJI and look for the DJI FLY APP, then download the ANDROID APK Version, it will update your dji fly version from 1.2.1 to 1.2.2 and then everything on the latest Firmware version for the mini 2 will work.
2.7k 60fps, mini-map with compass and so on. Hope this will help you

Here is maybe answer for your problem:
Did you see that there is a  firmware update also for the controller, it's named like RC something something...

So you have to install the latest RC firmware also and after you install the latest RC and Drone Firmware and the the latest Fly App then you have to do calibration of the compass and the IMU and the Controller..


I did that to begin with....

I have absolutely no problems with my Mini 2 and any of its features, I've already got 13 flights now and I've tested RTH and everything is working absolutely flawlessly for me..

The messages are really really simple to switch off..

I hope you listen to my advice and get the latest Fly App 1.2.2. And use the latest DJI Firmware and also make sure you have the latest RC Firmware and then after that IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to do calibration of the compass, the IUM, and the RC!

Then try fly....

PS: I guarantee that you will not have any of these problems at all after that.. Like I said, I listened to what DJI says about the new Firmware for the Mini 2 and it's controller, it's really important to do these calibrations...
