Some of you may have 'heard' that I have been busy with my other hobby lately (music)
We recorded 5 Christmas songs that will be broadcasted next Thursday.
In the meantime, I used drone footage to complement one song and I would love to share it here, because it fits the song very well.
All in Dutch, sorry guys.

We recorded as corona proof as we could (1 at a time), which took a lot of recording time, but hey.

It must have been difficult to get the timing right when putting this back together again,  but it looks superbly done.

It was nerve racking!
No visual. Not many reference points.
Hard to judge if the camera was in focus.
But worth it in the end!
I will make another video with the rest of the footage someday.
I was super lucky to have taken this long shots, since that was exactly what I needed for this song.

Last year it was.
This year I took measures to make life (a bit more) easy.
We recorded the song with a click track (metronome) and I played that while recording.
So while that helped us to play in sync, it also helped getting the footage on the right place (you can clearly see that click in the waveform, so it is a matter of finding the right location and aligning the audio from the camera with the audio from the music)
After that I just had to replace the music with the song without clicktrack.

One more thing I learned from last time, was that I needed to make full song shots instead of short clips.
That way I only had to align them once.
Still it was a 2h job to get all 16 recordings in sync.
But I feel it was worth it.

It was a gamble.
But I trusted myself with the MP after having had so many flights without any problems.
Very reliable piece of gear.

It is a standard feature in a 'DAW' (Digital Audio Workstation) to have a metronome for musicians to use as a tempo reference.
At first it is very unnatural to play along it, but after a while you don't notice it 'unless' you play out of sync.

For this project however, I used a drum machine (virtual) to generate it so I could record the sound and play it back as part of the output file.
And mute it for the final version of course.
