Anybody tried the new fly app? fingers crossed they didn't screw something working.
really curious to see the new altitude indicator, let's hope weather will permit me to try it out these days.

I wonder if they have fixed the video recording yet.

well it says "fixed certain issues". as broad as it is, i really hope it is some of the pano dng issues or video recording, though probably they would have specifically listed it, if that was the case.

It's available for iOS but don't see it for Android yet, at least not in US.

Have not tried it yet.

The attitude indicatot is cool. Shows heading angle and roll angle visually.
Its kinda hidden though. Took me a minute to find it.

Don't see the new version here, either.

For the life of me I can’t find this feature.
I noticed the orientation arc on the bottom center is now missing but I can’t find the attitude indicator.
Can you help?

You need to touch the small compass signal in the lower right hand corner of the map box. It will then change the map to the attitude indicator.

yeah i moved to ios as android issues on samsung phones were really annoying...to be beta testing again i think dji should make a discount for drones purchased in the first 3 months after release...or provide bonus credit for enduring their crappy dev releases.

I went from iOS to android for 2 months until I got a new iPhone, the Android app is unstable, so thank you to all Android users for accepting junk and allowing DJI to focus on iOS

I've been using a samsung s7edge for years. Now flying the mini2 with an S20 FE with no problems.

Which model was causing you problems?

i think mainly exynos models have the issue. i have been using it with S8+ and note 8 and also s6 or s7 edge...all the same crap. Basically dji cannot fix it and as not many people complain they don't bother.

well the apps are so different i wouldn't be very sure we are beta testing for android...the fly app is in constant beta testing QA phase

Given the speed of DJI Dev team and the rolling updates that take ages on Android, I'd say next year.  

The radar is really nice.  Would anyone else like it to be floating and positionable like the Histogram and able to be used at the same time as the Map?

Yes, for sure.
Not fond of the either or with map/indicator but it’s fine.
Not sure why they didn’t just put it where the original arc was, bottom center.

DJI there is now no visual indication to allow the pilot to point the controller at the aircraft, this is a significant backward step with the flight controls.

On the radar there is blue dot with an arrow that indicates the controller direction.  The only problem is that often it can be covered by the Home Point.  If you move about 15ft from the Home Point you can see the dot and arrow.

I flew 12 miles today with the new radar and map and was very pleased.  It is very easy to navigate to the Home Point and gauge the aircrafts direction.

It was usually windy here along the coast, 18-25mph, wind and the attitude indicator was at a slant to the aircraft because of the wind force when it was a hovering.  I found this very useful to see the wind direction.  Understanding the wind in different terrains that rapidly changes is useful.

Seems to work with the SC now too. I don't have the Mini 2, but in 1.2.2 can be selected.

yes, the app version base is the same, hence the automatic updates should work fine...though i doubt you will be able to wait so much every time, i guess it will be faster from dji site.
