Within the Fly App settings... Actually called "Payload Mode:

While in Camera View tap on the three dots " ... " in the upper right portion of the screen.
Under "Safety" scroll to the bottom of the list and choose "Advanced Safety Settings"
Scroll down again to the bottom.  You'll see a switch for Payload Mode

Originally designed for 'wearing' the prop guards there were a few other accessories (I guess) planned that would have put a strain on the motors, causing the aircraft to not take off or more sensitive to turbulence (cause the extra weight put further strain on the props/prop flex).

You might want to try a lighter flashlite if you find the motors overheating.  It's an easy way to fry one/them.  :-)
