In the Mavic Mini I was able to maintain yaw control while the aircraft is in RTH mode but in Mini 2, there is no yaw control while RTH.  Is this intentional?  I hope they add this control in the Mini 2 to match the Mavic Mini.  Not sure why features are being downgraded from previous model.

I never noticed that on the Mini. Are you sure? How would the drone maintain the RTH without dedicated heading control? I can see the lateral movements being allowed and have used them a lot.

It might be a glitch on the mini, which they corrected on the mini2.

It could prolong the flight time returning and therefor base for some crashes of the first mini.

Maybe it is intentionally left out.

MM1 can do yaw movement while RTH like this example
I dont know about mini 2 can do that while RTH, maybe DJI disable that feature inside mini 2.

Yup, that video shows exactly what they disabled in Mini 2 compared to the Mavic Mini.  I want that feature back.  It's nice to be able to film different angles while RTH in headless mode....

Nope, that's not glitch or bug at all, it's nice little feature inside MM1. Similar to headless mode, but fixed to RTH path at straight line. I always take the yaw control while RTH.

Yes, I like this feature so much too.
It's unfortunate if this feature disable forever on mini 2. Who knows, after future firmware update, DJI will unlock this feature again on mini 2.

You never know it was not an intended feature and maybe it interfeared in some cases with the RTH. Over to DJI for explaination.

Did you miss that feature on previous firmware or only on the last of the mini2?

It was an intended feature.  It was there with the Spark as well and I haven't had a single issue with the feature.  It should be implemented.

yes,  while in RTH a mini1 could rotate a 360  while the move direction remains steady.

Nice for looking around at RTH when you feel bored   :-)

How do we get DJI's attention to put this important feature back on the Mini 2? Any ideas?

Not sure what we can do about it, was such an important feature for me with the mini1,got some great fly-by videos with it.

On the mini 2 you can point the camera up and down (wheel), increase speed (stick forward) and increase or decrease altitude (stick forward and backward) while RTH.

You can't yaw the drone though.

Mini can do that too plus you can yaw while RTH mode.

I miss that feature too. Especially useful during RTH but I used it during landing too. Hopefully it’s added back in a future update!

That is not the same for me- maybe because I prefer my mini over my mini 2 or maybe you adjusted something in settings. maybe your not supposed to yaw when your drone is rth
