As it says in the title, when is the SC going to get an update of the Fly app beyond 1.1.16?  1.2.2 has just been released for iOS & Android devices, but the DJI download page still says this is not compatible with the SC. This VERY expensive device is being left behind to the point that I may well have to go back to my iPhone!

I just downloaded the apk file for the fly app 1.2.2 and already tested it on the smart controller. I have not have any problems at all with it. And there is a new icon on the map to use the the orientation where you drone is and the homepoint which seems ok not like on the go fly app

So, you’re saying that you definitely get a video feed from the MA2 to the SC with this version?  Because that was the problem with 1.2.0 & 1.2.1

Yes everything work, I only tested it for like 15 min because it was to cold out for me lol. So yes it works.

Downloaded file from DJI Download site, installed & a quick check out - all seems good! Like the new attitude indicator, although it’s a bit hit & miss trying to get the map to reappear.  Thanks for letting me know about this

Seems to work also with the Mini 2 now. I didn't notice before ...

Very nice.  The last 2 version have been duds when trying to download to the SC.  It is nice to know that DJI fixed this issue without the need for a firmware update.

Well, not with the SC.

I could install the fly 1.2.2 on my Smart Controller. I can see the the MM2 in the link options, like you showed on your screen capture. But, no linking takes place when I tried to link the SC to the MM2.
With the classic controller and the MM2 everything works fine.

Since the MM2 is not yet on the "aircraft management" profile list, what aircraft type did you select to do the linking on the SC ?

I like to work with aircraft management since the SC is linked as primary controller for my M2P and a profile was set up.

The 1.2.2 app can be installed on the SC, but the SC doesn't link with the MM2. I expect the SC still need a firmware update before linking can take place.

Yes, I didn't look at aircraft management. Makes sense, if it's not in there, it probably can't work either. I saw the MM2 on the start screen where it wasn't before ... so my thoughts.

I thought I had read somewhere that the SC was 32 bit and that FLY 1.2.2 was 64 bit and wouldn't run.  So you guys that sideloaded Fly 1.2.2 haven't noticed any issues?

The "Android" version on the DJI.COM site is bigger than the APK provided by Google Play. I suspect having both 32-bit and 64-bit version in that APK, installing the version that is needed on your system.

Version found in the Google play store refuse to install on the SC.

I bought the SC 2 weeks ago.. you can sideload Fly 1.2.2 and if you install the android SDK, from what I've read it installs the 32 bit version for the 32bit SC.  People in the other threads have had no issues at all running 1.2.2 on the SC.

I just sideloaded it on mine and we'll see how it behaves.  Just went to Lightning browser, to dji.com/mobile/downloads and selected the dji fly apk. downloaded, went to file mgr and installed. ran app, sync'd to MA2. charging batteries now to test it out.

Do so at your own peril but like I said.. I'm not the first one to load 1.2.2 on the SC for the MA2 as others in this thread have stated.

The Smart Controller is 64 bit.  As is the Fly App.

Your welcome and yes the altitude indicator does work, but I only had a couple of minutes with it do to the weather lol.
