There is nothing stopping you from installing it on the Smart Controller.

Just wanted to note... when I started out my comment with "Gee"  I was thinking "Geeee or Geeeez"  Absolutely no inference to Kloo'Gee' ... sorry if that was misinterpreted.

My point was that similar latencys have been experienced with CS and Android updates.  It seems like the best way to promote a premium accessory is to always make the easiest, most current, and "clean" device.  


PS (not directed at you ) I don't have a bank of computers or smart devices in my home that would allow me to be current on each nuance of upgrade, update, or upscale.  I have a few iOS and MacOS devices.  So adopting an Android based SC was a concern.  I don't want to waste time with maintaining the operating system nuances, Google Play this and that, APK whatever.  Make the premium device do the work so I can use it, no brick it.  rant rant rant

Don't forget to update the extra batteries.
I don't know why DJI never mentions that item ...

Where have you seen this official firmware 1.2.2 for s/c i cant see on Dji web site and not on google play?  

After upgrading the Dji Fly application to version 1.2.2 on Android it presents small freezes in the image transmitted to my phone screen, some frozen images of up to 7 seconds this does not happen in the previous version Dji Fly 1.2.1

Aircraft Firmware: v01.00.0511
Remote Controller: v02.00.1200
DJI Fly App Android: v1.2.2 - Bug
DJI Fly App Android: v1.2.1 - Normal

I downgraded to version 1.2.1 and returned it to normal.

I have been flying on v1.2.2 since it came out. I have had not issues what so ever.  Flow about 33 miles and got some long range flights of about 2 miles over the ocean. 1.2.2 is solid.

I turned on the SC and it said "update available". I hit OK and it's been on "Checking for Update" for about 30 minutes.
Is this normal?

My SC doesn't orientate properly and shoes me facing 90° in either the left or right wrong direction. For example It says I'm facing north when I'm facing east. My drone doesn't have this issue. I updated my smart controller with the update and now it's not even showing the orientation on the bottom. If I download Google maps onto it Google maps works fine, so this must be a software issue. Anyone having this problem or know solution?

The Fly App 1.2.2 is solid.....maybe, but also with the combination with the new firmware und flight controller update?

Has anyone already tested the cruise control and can explain a little.

Sorry for that, but i updated the air 2 and process failed. I update dji fly > ok
udapte RC and Air 2 by dji assisant > ok
But now RC is not connected to air 2, re-link fonction doesn't work....
What can i do ?

There must be some reason not to release an official SC-version of 1.2.2. I’ll use the stock controller and my iPhone until it’s released. I just wish DJI would prioritize their own hardware little higher, even more now when they released a MA2 package including the SC.

I updated the firmware and took the smart controller running 1.2.2 out for a spin.  Drone performed well in initial tests but the drone attitude/orientation indicator (on the little map) still doesn't show correctly but if you tap on the map it does show it flying right over the street I was on and pointed in the right direction.

After this little test I decided to remove the update on the SC and take it back to 1.1.6 and wait for the official update from DJI for the SC.

I updated Dec 29th 2020 new firmware and seems fine but some reasons I don’t see on a flying DJI app the Aircraft triangle  and the circle which show you what direction you’re flying in disappear after the update iOS DJI removed it? It was such good way to see what Direction you’re facing it will be very nice Dji can give a choice to change the darker color of the aircraft  arrow option flying sun glares.

I updated 2 days ago and now the camera jerks up and down in all modes when changing speed or it is really bad going forward to reverse. Any ideas

Do you have only the SC updated? Or do you also updated the firmware of the MA2?

Since Upgrading to version 1.2.1 and FW V2.00.1101 I have many issues with disconnections and bad communication between the RC and the Drone.
Sent it to DJI Authorized lab, checked it twice and they said that they see no problem.
VERY FRUSTRATING.
Now it asks me to upgrade to the new RC-N1 Firmware V2.00.1200
Should I upgrade?

Thanks for the headsup.. Updated my SC and my DJI Fly last night. Haven't tested yet.

A co z SDK MA2?

Just tried to update the firmware, and somehow, the firmware version showed 0.00.0000 on the About tab. Not sure what went wrong @_@

Just took the MA2 and SC out for 25 minute spin with SC firmware done and MA2 update done. I was limited to 200 feet AGL and 600 feet horizontal (flying in an FAA approved zone) but it handled great with no loss of video or unresponsiveness at all.

I now have this exact same issue, had my air 2 for 7 months and now this bump of the gimbal ruins the video. It does this anything over 1m p/s and before anyone says let go of the sticks gently or such - it NEVER done this even in sport mode before- so its a firmware issue with .0511

I understand your frustration.
Why not purchase  the Mavic Pro 2 or the Phantom 4 Pro v 2.0?  they work very well with the Smart Controller.

So I purchased the Mavic Air 2 when it was released. just because it was {promised to be} compatible with the Smart Controller.
It took almost 4 months from the time the Mavic Air 2 was announced and released before the Smart Controller was able to control the MA2.
Relax... it is still  so  quick to set up and get flying. the screen is  so much better than any phone.

Yes I’ve updated the smart controller, the app, the drone and the battery’s... I tested it again today and the signal in my smart remote dropped a signal bar when it was 90ft above my head

So I'm assuming that if it was above your head you had the antennas in the horizontal position, not vertical where it's sending the beam parallel to the ground.. right?  I took mine to 198 feet straight up and never lost any bars.. and went out 600 feet and 199 up and still had full bars.

I do have to say that I'm not a fan of the new acft position indicator not that it matters because it doesn't seem to work for kaka anyway but the old one was easier to look at and determine that it wasn't working for kaka  (DJI censors words.. I'm a retired GI .. how am I supposed to express myself without using swear words?)

Agree with you on not liking the new AC position indicator.  Useless now.

When will we get waypoints for the mavic air 2, I think that needed to be included with the price we pay for these drones, that was the only disappointment I had with the mavic air 2, my cheap drone has waypoints but my mavic air 2 doesn't, all drones should have this capability, very important for certain missions that require be autonomous.

I updated the SC and the MA2 and haven't had any issues yet. Rock steady, no loss of signal, but then again, I FLY VLOS and my 64 yr old eyes don't see as far as they used to.

For Android users there is a third bullet from the firmware update notice: "he DJI Fly v1.2.2 for Android version needs to be downloaded from dji.com". Why would DJI say you "need" to download from the DJI site, instead of "Requires Fly v1.2.2"? Won't the 1.2.2 eventually be available on Google Play?

That's what I want to know as well (if the latest app will be on GooglePlay). I used to install app through DJI site on my old phone, now I went with official GP app version (as a kind of safety feature), is there a ban for DJI on GoogePlay or just delay?
