At the cost of € 23,- we (in The Netherlands) have to register ourselves as pilots to be allowed to fly a drone (apart from toy drones without a camera AND < 250g).
This registration is valid for one year.
How is this in your (EU) country?

ssRDW.jpg

Most drones also require additional training, but not the Mini (2) as it is <250g

I thought that we will be having a 3 year transition period from "legacy drones". Looks like that is not the case (in NL anyway).

Edit1
I Just checked, and according to Welke regels gelden voor het vliegen met een dronAAAkAACAABIAAE3hiB/wM5dEwNezs2egAAAABJRU5ErkJggg==[/img]

If the above has been correctly translated, you would only need to register the drone and not do the pilot exam - correct?

Edit 2. Which flight school did you use for your certificate, as I canndot seem to find any links from either RDW or government site?

Why an Exploitant registration as the drone is less than 250 g?  It's only for drones >250 g. You only have to register drones < 250g if there is a camera, but  I can't find that option in the RDW site.
I just noticed this in the RDW site:
U heeft een exploitantnummer nodig als u eigenaar bent van 1 of meer drones met een camera of een gewicht van meer dan 250 gram.
I assume this is the registration for the Mini 2 in NL.

Thanks! I am trying to figure out if A1 & A3 certificate covers the "can be flown out of direct view. This is called beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS)." from Medium-risk flights

Edit1

There is a transitional period for legacy drones.
But you will need to register yourself as a drone pilot and take an examination based on the weight of the drone.
(only not with a <250g drone)
You register at the RDW.
Just go here rdw.nl/particulier/voertuigen/drone/het-vliegbewijs-en-het-exploitantnummer-van-een-drone/aanvragen-vliegbewijs-of-exploitantnummer-van-een-drone

They want to know who you are when you have either a 250g+ drone OR one with a camera

There is much more to high risk flying (BVLOS) than just a certificate.
If you want to do this legally you have to take a lot of measures (you don't want to go that road for a hobby)

It was a piece of cake to register. The registration number (except last 3 digits) sticked on the back site of the front prop wing now.

What? You have to pay for registration? In EU? Supprised. In CZ it is completely free.

In Germany it is STILL free, but I think it won't stay that way. The only reason why it is currently free is that there is no fee regulation yet.

In Poland it is free as well and valid for 5 years. Just passed it (although for Mini 2 just registration is required).

How about insurance? The Norwegian CAA in their infinite wisdom decided to classify drones as aircraft <500kg basically mandating you to get a liability insurance as if you were flying a ultralight aircraft.. I could swallow the 18€ yearly registration fee, but not being forced to pay an extra 50-120€ a year for insurance..

In Germany all drones need insurance. We have liability insurance that includes drone insurance, so all in all about 40 € per year. I thought in norway it is only needed für commercial use /flights (?)
