He said he had been flying the P3P drone for a year recreationally. I don't think so. He probably was flying a P2 and upgraded. He was flying the P3P in the the video and we all know it's only been out a couple of months.
I was watching the Today show yesterday and they did a segment on Drone lifeguards. A drone was outfitted with arms that released a life preserver ring to a swimmer in trouble. They show how quickly a drone could respond vs. the lifeguard to the swimmer in distress. Good press is great for us.
This could also be a way that the government justifies using UAV's for their use and not ours.
Fox had the fire captain on this morning ad how he used his Phantom 3 to carry the life line to the stranded boys. At least they didn't show the rescuers almost needing rescue themselves as one was ejected from the raft while attempting the rescue.
