That so called "bug" has been that way ever since DJI did away with APAS and went with the "Safety Assistance" indicator (several Fly app upgrades ago). Since there was a lot of confussion with this change over I created a quick reference card for the "Safety Assistance" indicator. You'll notice I indicated the full avvoidance option is only available for normal mode. Did you try flying to see if the aircraft is truly in "Bypass" mode with an avoidance test? It may indicate it's in "Bypass", but in actuality it may not be.

I tested the bypass in Normal mode and Tripod (when it was available after restart). It appears that the APAS doesn't work like it use to. With both tripod and normal while in BYPASS, the aircraft just stops in front the obstacle and doesn't go around. Previously, the bypass function was smooth and continuous if the aircraft came across an obstacle that wasn't too large. Sideways Flight was NOT disabled. |
