The date on this post is confusing noting the date is over 2 weeks ago, is this a new update to the one that has already been released ?

The released 1.02.0000 around the 28th Dec 2020 and then the point update above, but have only just posted in the forum "officially". There are a number of other threads about it. Holidays I hope.

The risk of crash is not any higher from active track than it is from any of the Quickshots allready on the drone. This is not about safety but about protecting features that you find on higher level DJI drones. Problem is just that basically any drone you buy today would have some tracking capability so leaving it out on any DJI drone is somewhat a joke.

DJI should get this feature on the Mini 2 and it can only happen to slow!

Agree and again we know the drone has the capability to do it so let’s get it added.

DJI will never add Active Track to MM2. These kind of huge upgrades means a new device for producer company. The device CPU and other futures also may not have enough power to make it.

BTW don't forget Active Track on M2P never been updated to the latest.

Bit of a newbie question here which may be related to the recent Firmware.
I had my first aircraft disconnection at the weekend, which resolved itself after a few seconds - I noticed when I looked back over the flight (and I should have noticed earlier), that my fly app display is showing a WiFi graphic, which I haven't seen on any other M2 video, is this correct or have I set the controller up wrong somewhere?


I've just realised that the WiFi symbol only shows on the playback screen!

I afraid I will not get answer just sending my question to that e-mail. My hope was that under public pressure they can provide some explanation of that super strange situation.

As I just got my Mini 2 last week, I came here to check firmwares. They are up2date. But the flyapp in the Android store I installed is NOT 1.2.2 but 1.2.1. And there is no update in the store.

Normally you receive the response at most 3-5 days. But this reply sometimes doesn't satisfy unfortunately.

in the settings, row is set in the photo, but when shooting a panorama, the drone shoots only in jpeg. What could be the problem?

I just updated the most recent one is on 16th Jan and had issues with video not recording. SD card wasn’t full. I formatted SD card and after couple of goes it appears to work for now.

It is unlogical, but the settings for the panorama pictures are only available when your drone is in the sky and you activate the panorama function. Then go to settings (three dots) and you will be able to specify RAW + jpeg.

If you read the notes section of the Release Notes, it tells you to get it from their website.  I’ve never seen that before, so maybe they aren’t planning to have it in the Play Store any more...

When you submit a app to Play Store or App Store, the app is analysed to make sure User device will be safe, toka sure app comply with their policies and ToS, you may submit the update to both store at the same time, even same second, the time to review the app and approve it for public launch will differ.

If you google about game updates you will see that updates for Nintendo Switch takes twice, sometimes 3 4 times when compared to Xbox or Ps, for the same title.

Apple does not allow installs from Unknown Source, Android does, so DJI can help you receive the update before the official launch.

If you don't trust installing a APK from the official website, why purchase one of their products?

Do you question all the apps you install in your PC? Thankfully Play Store and App Store do this for us. But if I trust to spend 500 pounds on an product, why not trust in download the app from their website?

Answer is simple - every other update of the DJI app was provided through Google Play store so every time it passed Google verification process. What is different this time? Maybe Google can't verify positively that build? If the DJI Fly app was distributed from the beginning as downloadable version from their website - I am good with that kind channel of distribution. But this time something is different... so definitely I will wait for official update in Google Play store or for the announcement from DJI why they don't want to provide update in that standard way.
