Answer is simple - every other update of the DJI app was provided through Google Play store so every time it passed Google verification process. What is different this time? Maybe Google can't verify positively that build? If the DJI Fly app was distributed from the beginning as downloadable version from their website - I am good with that kind channel of distribution. But this time something is different... so definitely I will wait for official update in Google Play store or for the announcement from DJI why they don't want to provide update in that standard way.

Since updating my mavic Mini seems to  default to N mode after turning it off or replacing the battery.
Even though the switch on the controller is in the S position and the phone screen is showing S mode it won't go above 36kmh unless I flick the controller switch to N and then back to S .
This sees the speed improve to 57kmh which is correct for S mode.
This has only occurred since the latest firmware update.

I really doubt that the new version 1.2.2 release is still not released in the Google Playstore because of DJI.
It is more likely because US government added DJI to Commerce blacklis.

Doesn't make any sense. Why would it be in Apple's store. Also DJI itself is not blocked from anything. It's the components that DJI is using...

It is your choice, but keep in mind that user are also the ones to blame for delays on updates, take this app for example.

Look what the app has been reported for.
None of them make sense to me.

I wonder if there are any plans to add Action Track? Fimi X8 has,he is also without sensors, but where is the competition?

Competition can't update app in Google Play... so don't ask about competition.

That feature only appears if your phone is an iPhone. Sadly Android does not support turning off charging when connected via USB.

Yes, in 1.2.2 this has been replaced by a new 'compass' screen that you can activate by first activating the small map (map icon bottom left) and then inside the small map tap the bottom right icon with the upward pointing arrow inside a cirle. The new compass screen is not appreciated by everyone, because it is aircraft-centric (the drone is in the middle and the home point and the RC location are shown at the border).
If you pilot the drone as if you are sitting in the cockpit of the aircraft, this makes sense. If you pilot the drone as if you are standing on the ground it is less convenient than the previous indicator.

No. It works absolutely fine with Android. First time I see that kind opinion.

Not to mention that the Smart Controller is an Android device.

With the new android 11 on my samsung s20+ the dji fly app shuts down when flying. I need to open it again to see the drone. It happens in a 4 minute flight 4 times or more. Now i am afffraid to use my drone. Can this be fixed?

Try installing version 1.2.4, I believe someone said it fixed the black screen problem.

With the new firmware our Drone stopped to rotate during automated scenes. When we are starting any of automated programs related to YAW angle change, drone just flying ignoring it and camera lost program after reaching 20° on any side.

It is possible to downgrade the FW?

Please add Active Track. or at least some sort of simple follow me feature.

Is there really no adjustment of the smoothness of the remote control joysticks? The drone turns very quickly around its axis.
And in the new firmware, the exposure level (EV) does not change until you turn on video recording.

When will the Mini 2 support FPV goggles!!?

I've developed Android apps with over 5M users. App store updates typically take 2-3 hours but with Covid may take a couple days. They do not *ever* take 6 weeks. If DJI submitted version 1.2.2 to the Play Store in December and it has not been approved yet there is something wrong with the app and if the DJI android development team can not figure it out in 6 weeks it is either a serious problem or an indication of a really bad code base for the app. I'm a relatively new DJI customer but a long time android user and developer and looking over the comments and posts about android app updates breaking functionality, being incompatible with new android releases and making peoples drones inoperable i can only conclude that DJI is putting all of their development effort into the iPhone app and the android app is an afterthought. It is inexcusable to all of a sudden silently change your app distribution method from the Play Store to apk downloads from a developer site. 99% of users will not get the new updates.

@slide531 - 100% agree. It is exactly the reason why I am still on 1.2.1 version!  Something is really bad with these newest updates so the DJI doesn't want (or can't) to add it to Google Play.
