When powering on the camera is facing backward (selfie mode). How can I set the camera to face forward when the camera is turned on?

Use the right hand  button below the screen.  The power button is for powering in selfie mode as you have found.

Please let me know where I can find this information in the user manual? The manual only states that you can use the function button to power on the camera.
I think that this should be a software feature to let you choose in the menu the default direction of the camera.

It's a new firmware feature.  So probably not yet in the manual.
