Is there a name for people that chase boats?   
I was suprised that the Mavic 2 Pro could outrun the tanker whilst flying backwards, whilst being a good distance from the shore.

There probably is.
They even have special forums.
But I'm not sure what the EN term is.

Thanks Monty,  I was reversing down the middle of thames to get this and going faster than the ship.

A boat is more considered a small vessel I guess.

Ive been tracking that one on the AIS site,  fascinating where they go.  I wasn't aware we had a anchorage in the mouth of the thames where ships swap goods.

It is a very special world.
One that has many surprises if you dive deep enough.

Boat heads. Nice pic though I'm not into 3+ min. of viewing boat video.

No DSLR
My trusty Panasonic HC X900
It is a great camcorder (still just HD, but I don't mind)
Before I had a DSLR that could do video, it was my goto video capture device.
After my D610 purchase, it was degraded to train video camera.
(since it is difficult to capture a train with a DSLR because it requires fast focus and zoom)
I'm considering upgrading it to one with a bigger sensor, but I don't really use it that much, so can't justify the cost right now.

I zoomed in (don't know exactly to what zoom setting)
That (combined with the wide aperture and short distance) created a nice blurred background.

If the subject you focus on is further away, you don't get this nice blur.
But I'm very pleased with this camcorder.
It has a 3CCD that (in theory) gives less noise.

It looked really good,  it didnt look like little trains more like they were real size.

At first glance very much.
Thanks to the makers
Some things are harder to disguise, gravity is one of them.
Since some small bumps are 'magnified' 87 times because of the scale. But other than that you can get really close.
