Can the Mavic 2 Enterprise advanced be used for inspecting large areas (say 10km2) for solar photovoltaic inspections?
Is the 640x512 camera radiometric, as its not indicated on the spec sheet here: https://www.dji.com/de/mavic-2-enterprise-advanced/specs

Also, is it capable of performing thermal mapping where each photo is geo-tagged, and which software is suitable for creating thermal orthomosaic maps? Pix4D doesnt support the Mavic 2 Enterprise

Best regards,

No. The thermal camera is 160x120 and does not record RJPG format. It can be used for diagnostics but with a lot of compromises.

With the 640x512 sized sensor you should be good to use the M2EA for this kind of task. It creates radiometric JPG which are essential for postprocessing your images.
You can fly the M2EA with every software which is supporting that type of aircraft. As time passes and DJI is releasing an SDK the usual app developers (PIX4D, DroneDeply, and others) might add this aircraft to their flight control software. Maybe the M2EA is supported by DJI's own software GS Pro.
Each Image you take with the M2EA is geotagged and every software capable of processing geotagged R-JPG should be able to produce such a thermal map of your solar panel field. (PIX4D or DroneDeploy to name a few)

You mean the first Enterprise edition (dual) not the new one which will be released next month....

So how sure are you? Cause DJI stated that within a short period of time they will provide new information about the software that can be used...
The DJI Thermal Analysis Tool can't be used to create reports in PDF or Word for the client and for example, Flir Tool 6 or Flir Tool+ can create them.

But the new camera in the M2EA is not a Flir but the first DJI-one. So can the Flir Tool Software be used for analyzing and reporting in case of the M2EA? Or is DJI going to present a completely new Thermal Software?!?

Thanks in advance!!

Is it possible for DJI to respond? Our company wants to purchase a couple of the M2EA but we'd like to know which software can be used for post processing? Cause the DJI Thermal Analyzing Tool is not sufficient enough.
Normally we're using FLIR software... Or is DJI developing a new thermal software for the M2EA...!?

Look into the FAQ of the M2EA:

Question: Can I measure the temperature on thermal images taken using the M2EA in post-processing?
Answer: Yes. More details on the post-processing software are coming soon.

Yep, I've seen it already. But maybe I'm not patient enough

We need the M2EA to be able to take R-JPEG pictures, any update from DJI on this? is it competing with the M300 otherwise??
