It was.
Once in a year (usually) it gets this high.
And once in a lifetime (estimated) they have to open the gates to flood the area behind it, so that the waterlevel will drop in the river.

It is indeed.
There is quite a slope up to that bridge.

It is. This area is free to flood with the water from the river.
Only the part after the bridge is surrounded by dikes and only used in case of a real threat.

Very stormy. We drove south to the ferry yesterday in heavy rain. Safely back in the Mayenne now

Lol,  there was an illegal rave that was broken up over the weekend, and some of the people who got caught said they didnt know about the pandemic.  Hard to believe.
