At daybreak yesterday, we were waiting to embark on the cross-Channel ferry from Portsmouth, UK. to Caen-Ouistreham, FR.
The second leg of our journey home.  Scarecely any traffic ready to board. Only 30 cars and 3 trucks were on the manifest.
No foot passengers allowed, currently, due to Covid restrictions. We spent the 6 hour crossing mainly in our cabin.
When walking about, it was eerie to see such a vast vessel almost deserted.

Did you not read the pre-amble?    Caen-Ouistreham, in the Calvados, Normandy.  It's the most direct route for us, and then a couple of hours' drive south to get home.

I could only find a place called Ouistreham,  but now I zoom out I see Caen is nearby.

Great shot.  Hard to believe such a large ferry with only 30 cars and 3 trucks onboard.  With the cost of fuel I'm sure they didn't make much money out of that 6 hour trip.

It was a shame when the stopped the overnight ferry,  it got in for abut 7am and the train to amersterdam didnt take long.
