Not sure if you follow cameras, but that RF 600mm F11 lens is a beast,  normally I wouldn't look at something that only went to f11 but it is amazing and it has a odd telescopic tube.

Naw, it's a subject I've never got to grips with.  I just have an old Canon Powershot Pro1  8Mp that I still use occasionally.

Thats not a bad camera. set it with a power source and you could do some good long timelapses with it.

It would need that. The battery is a bit tired now.

Amazing slo-mo footage.  Really impressed with how you captured the 2nd bird in full flight.

Seems absorbed by his art, at any rate.

For nature video, you don't need a telephoto lens now.  Just set up your Pocket 2 at a suitable place where the wildlife may appear - a table in the garden with bird seeds on it perhaps - move a little way away with your phone - then when the birds land on the table (or whatever) you can steer the camera and record close-up images controlled from the phone.  I keep meaning to do this - and as I have been typing, an interesting bird has landed on the garden table, taken a drink from the dish there, found a twig for their nest, and flown off.  But the camera is in my study... oh well, next time.

Some great possibilities for sure = when the weather improves and we're allowed out and about once more. Movement restrictions still abound here.

Sometimes I feel almost guilty that I don't go out as much as I could, when others would love to be in an almost covid-free country like ours (Australia) and have substantial freedom of movement.  And of course we're in the middle of summer too...

Make sure there is good lighting (it uses fast shutterspeeds) and keep the subject somewhat close by

Well you can't beat a bonus like that.  When the video started I was thinking that it was only going to be the blackbird on the fence.  Was really cool to see the 2nd one come into view and fly right across the screen.  Again, that slo-mo is a fantastic feature.

There's a little fishing pond just down the road from here. It would be great to catch a slo-mo of a fish leaping out of the water - as they do occasionally. But that would need a lot of luck.
