Plus it does not require a phone. Which feels like a big plus for me.

My phone goes everywhere with me,  but the Osmo 3/4 is still bigger than the P2 on its own.

I found out the 'need' for a phone was another reason not to make these shots (since you lose your phone for quite a bit of time)

I saved an iPhone SE last year for this reason,  but Im sure it weights more than the P2 does.

I thought about that, but could not justify the extra cost.
Plus I really can't work with the iPhone video files.
Sony Vegas Pro 14 has big problems with those.
It essentially opens an instance of quicktime per file (in the background) and this has a limit of about 5-6 clips per project before it stops working...

I have had 2 iPhones so far and all have this weird thing going on in Sony Vegas.
It is because of the Codec as I found out.
Very specific for this editor, but there is no other editor that I know off that suits me as nicely as Sony Vegas.
(I can edit a video in under 5 minutes and with all the other editors I have tried it took me much more).
So I will stick with SV for a while and use Resolve when I need it.

There are ways, but it is adding yet another step that kept me from using it like I wanted.
Combined with my other complaints it was time to let it go.
I now only use my iPhone when I really really really want to film something and I don't have my camera with me.
But I'm actually never pleased with the end result, so I do that only very occasionally.
I guess I'm spoiled with DLSR for video
