Hi guys!

I just got the Mini 2 and tried out the panorama alternatives.
The ready stitched small jpg's made automatically works fine, but can only really be used on SoMe.
The fun would be to stitch alle the indiviual files together and work on the RAW etc.
How do you guys do it?
I have horrible results in LR and PS.
The 180 is easy, but the "wide" comes out really twisted:


And the "Sphere" is way off:


Normally I find LR to do panoramas quite easy, but not with these files.
Suggestions?

I'm on Mac.
And it seems odd that any free software should do this better than Photoshop og Lightroom

I downloaded the app, but unfortnuately it's too old (2016) to be opened on my OS.
Anyway, I was hoping to avoid downloading and trying out a bunch of apps.
I'm basically asking if anyone is able to do it successfully in Lightroom and Photoshop....the leading apps for working on photos

I use auto pano giga.  Its no longer sold but you can find it with google,  or MS ICE as already suggested is a good tool thats free.

I use autopano giga for the stitching.

Hard to get all photo's stitch with Adobe. For me always not working to get it all right

Strange. I find it works fine when I take photos manually with my Sony A7III.

I prefer to find a current and legal solution
But again, I guess there are plenty of panorama apps out there, I'm asking if anyone in here is having any success in stitching the files in PS/LR, since it's working fine with other cameras.

Me too actually.
This is one of 2 apps that I still have without paying.

I don't have PS/LR anymore (since it was too expensive for me)
The other good pano software I know off is way too expensive for me.
So I will wait until I have either a good reason or a cheap alternative.

I find the M2 gives a bit worse stitching results. Even in Autopano.
There seems to be a bit too weird distortion on the jpegs.
DNG is even worse (since autopano does not use the built in lens profile)

The normal pano's work in Ps. The wide angle pano gave a lot of distortion in Ps. Tried in ICE. ICE is very good for pano's. Yes, doing sometimes a better job than Ps.

I moved to PTGui. It is a little bit expensive but that one handled the wide angle the best of what I tried in the past. On top of that PTGui is able to stich also multiple AEB pictures into a pano. The output of the program can be jpg, tiff,... but also a Photoshop file. This can be used directly as input for Ps.

I make automatic piano's, but also make manual AEB pictures to be joined in pano.

The guy at Drone Film Guide talks about www.AutoStitch.net as a solution, based on taking the various panorama pics as individual images.

I'm starting to have success with LR on my Mac. At first I wasn't.
I am taking AEB shots and making sure to overlap quite a bit. In LR I'm doing the photo merge as HDR Panorama and choosing Spherical.\

They're coming out much better than the JPG images stitched in the Fly App.

Right. But you haven't been able to succeed with the preset "wide panorama" that automatically shoots 9 images?

I use LR but the corners are incredibly soft.

It works but the quality isn't as good vs taking AEB photos and merging in LR

i cant get the 9 frame to stich in lightroom,    PTGui is the way to go but also found the overlap in the drones auto mode is too much which means the finished image isnt really wide enough       i now manually shoot 12 frames to stitch in ptgui which is producing great results with no warping or distorsion that lightroom produces,  very strange as my phantom 4 pro panos stitch perfect.   there is something basically wrong with the pano format in the firmware i think that the metadata in the files is not correect or not being read by adobe software.

One thing I forgot to mention is that I'm using Lightroom Classic, not the newer Cloud based Lightroom. If I let the Mini2 do a Wide Angle Panorama on it's own it does work. I upload just the raw images and it has been stitching them fine but the stitched image is a little warped which I am able to fix using the Geometry tools in Lightroom Classic.

Sometimes I will take a wide angle and then another wide angle to more area covered and those have stitched together nice as well as long as the overlap is enough. I have found doing it over water if any images don't have land to reference they will not stitch together and it leads to Lightroom Classic leaving some of the photos out of the final product.

Right.
I've never used the cloud based LR.
But this time it turned out very warped in Classic.

PTgui can create the panorama that comes with the globe effect on Skypixel.com site. DJI Media maker, Microsoft ICE and Autostitch were very easy to create panorama but were not acceptable by Skypixel and Facebook 3d. Still learning more everyday.

Hi Stephen.. I came across this thread by accident and I also have been having trouble stitching a 9 shot pano.. I should say having trouble finding an app that would stitch them,even a lot of paid apps don't have the means to do it. After reading your post within 5 minutes I had the software downloaded and the 9 photo pano stitched together, and what a photo. I just wanted to say thank you, i love my mini 2se I'm finding new features every time I fly... thank you. Tom

I used Microsoft's Image Composite Editor (ICE) to stitch my panoramics together. Great app, but it can't stitch 9 pictures. I have panoramas that containing 7 and 9 pictures and application works only with less pictures.

I m using Hugin panorama stitcher with very good results. Not sure if available for Mac but MS Win version works fine

I recommend Hugin, free and open source, simple, practical, automatic positioning of photos with HDR correction :-)
