I've had the Mini 2 for around 2 weeks now and all has been good until yesterday.

I was in open area flying over fields when it lost signal around 490m away which is not great imo I thought ocusync was the latest and greatest at keeping a signal.

There was nothing in the area it was just flying over trees when it went from full to lost signal and then a black screen

I could not see anything on the screen and then it initiated it's RTH and even when it was less than 250m away I still could not recover the screen.

This is on a One Plus 8 Pro Android 11.

Are you aware of the black screen on Android on lost signal DJI?

Hello there. I am sorry for the trouble this has caused and thank you for reaching out. Can you please try using a different mobile device to see if the issue will still persist? Upon checking the said mobile device ( One Plus 8 Pro Android 11 ) that your are trying to use on your DJI Mini 2 and with the DJI Fly application. I am sorry to say that the said mobile device is not recommended for the said drone and with the said application. DJI would suggest using a recommended mobile device for the DJI Mini 2 and with the DJI Fly application for compatibility and reliability purposes. There is a possibility that the One Plus 8 Pro Android 11 will be able to work on the DJI Mini 2 and with the DJI Fly application. But however, since it's not yet optimized with the said drone and with the said application we cannot guaranteed if it will work all the time and if it will be able to run all the functions of the DJI Fly application while using it on the DJI Mini 2. For reference I will post a link where in you can check the recommended mobile devices for the DJI Mavic Mini ( https://www.dji.com/mini-2/downloads ). Thank you.

Thanks for the reply.

Just to reiterate the phone works perfectly fine since I've flown it and not had any issues other than when the drone loses signal with the RC and it cannot recover and the camera in app is just a black screen.

I realise it's not on the list but as I said everything with the app and the drone is fine when there is good signal when it loses signal and the screen goes black even after closing the app and reopening the screen was still black, I do not believe this is a phone issue as it sounds to me the drone could not correctly send the feed back to the RC when it happens.

I do have a Google pixel 2 XL also so the next time I am out I will test this also.

Welcome aboard. DJI will continue to hide behind the unsupported phone excuse when the forum clearly shows lots of "supported" phones with the same issue.

As OverCombination stated, check that link as others have had black screen on Exynos Samsung devices. Maybe load 1.2.2 if you have not already. Also run in airplane mode.

Thank for that I think I commented on that also as I have Snapdragon and it's doing it for me as well when it loses signal.

It's what I thought also as One Plus is on that list so if older models of the manufacturer does then I expect this to work also, This is not a phone issue it's either the drone or the software not re-establishing a video link correctly.

I don't feel confident anymore flying this if it does that again and does not return.

Thanks yeah I checked that link once I realised I had the same issue yesterday.

I have Snapdragon on the One Plus 8 Pro so It's not am issue with the phone it's either the Android app at fault or the drone is not is not re-establishing a video feed back to the controller or the controller to the software.

I did have WiFi disabled but did have mobile data enabled so I will try with aeroplane mode enabled next time later this week thanks.

Forgot to add I already have 1.22 installed.

The DJI Fly app for Android was just update to v1.2.4. Here is the link https://www.dji.com/downloads/djiapp/dji-fly.  It appears it still needs to be manually installed and there are not change logs.

Hopefully and IOS version will drop soon.

Nice one thanks for that mate, Must have just dropped recently I did check yesterday.

I see there's no changelog too.

FAO DJI do you have release notes for v 1.24 for Android?
