Had a great time away up in the south west of New South Wales at Broken Hill and Malparinka.
Haven't got to the video yet, but thought I'd share a few images.

What is this place.  Is it an old outback trading place, sort of museum.  Doesn't look like there is much there.

Broken Hill is a Major regional centre with an extensive history in mining silver and lead.
Malparinka is now just a Pub and a couple of houses. There are ruins of older buildings and a museum that was recently restored by a local volunteer group..

There are many such towns like this across rural and remote Australia. They had their heyday in a time when transport and logistics meant that a good days travelling may have seen only 50 or so km covered by horseback or drey. They now serve as centres for the nearby Station families to congregate and socialise, even if there are no actual services there.

I went up there to photograph their annual gymkhana, unfortunately not with the uav, as horses scare very easily.

No one will sit through more than 2 minutes anyway so edit it down to the absolute most amazing moments, add some music and post it!

Good to see some shots from Aus. - very nice
Just had a mate cross the Simpson Desert with his Phantom so I'm looking forward to seeing more of the "red centre"

I have certainly learned just how hard it is to edit your own footage! Aaaargh!!!
Just a sample of what we captured - the full vid is 16 minutes, but as Jim said above, no-one will ever look at a vid for that long!Had taken a lot of care on colour and frame rate - just to have Vimeo compress the crap out of it! Oh well, you get what you pay for I guess.




BTW - Herding Goats with a UAV is now a thing and it's mine....

Awesome vid man, I think it would look even cooler with a 2nd camera operator to get those smoother panning shots, but nice work!

Thanks for the feedback. Completely agree with you there, some of the orbits got a bit jagged!
It's beautiful country - Big Skies, lots of wide plains and time to think as you travel.

Didn't have my young bloke with me on this trip unfortunately, so wasn't able to run 2 operators.
Not having much luck with the 2nd remote of late, lots of signal loss issues yet the primary remote is rock solid. Have pretty much concentrated on single op flight until we see a fix. (Next firmware?)
