Actually a mode that existed on Mavic Air and not on its successor MA2...
Funny reasoning at DJI. I guess the former owners of Mavic Air must be disappointed.
But actually I think that should not count on it

And qgain not even zoom for photo. You have ready functions from other drones. Waypoints from mavic 2 zoom for photo from mini 2. Its not code from zero

Why do you need zoom for photo, just zoom the photo you have in?  All that zoom for video does anyway is crop in on the sensor, you lose the resolution.

It would not be beneficial at all to take a zoomed photo.  
It is much better to save the full resolution and cut out afterwards.

Yea, havent seen 1.23 nowhere. And allso my OnePlus 8 is still on 1.2.1 and old Huawei P20 got 1.2.4 for some reason!

I have Samsung A20 and had to go to DJI site to download new version of fly app. Had to do it on the last version as well because there was nothing in play store.

Why do you need zoom for photo, just zoom the photo you have in?  All that zoom for video does anyway is crop in on the sensor, you lose the resolution.

This is not (entirely) correct.

You do not lose resolution on the Mavic Air 2 when zooming video.  Remember, the sensor is 8k capable, so if you can zoom 4k up to a 2x zoom and still have 4k resolution as output (and 8 times zoom at 1080p and still stay at 1080p).

Obviously, at lower resolutions you can zoom in more, and keep the resolution you were filming at.  It is true that the sensor obviously can't go beyond its limits (in this case 8k) but the zoom functions for the Air 2 are all based on the resolution you are filming at, and allow you to make use of the full sensor.  In the case of the Air 2 it is of extra benefit because you can't film 8k in normal video mode (and crop later) but this allows you to use the full sensor.

Is this a full release version or a beta version please? I don't mind updating firmware on things like my phone where a bug is simply an inconvenience but I don't want to be a public beta tester if it means a bug risking the total loss of my aircraft?

You are right it says 1.2.4 , but if you install it from app store it is still 1.2.2 I did just a few minutes ago

Seems better to stay away from updating to the new FW as there is still no Fly App ( 1.2.4) for iOS users after four days! I do not know what s going on in DJI!
