I have yet to try the Ground Station portion of the IOS app for my Phantom 2 Vision.
Does it rotate the quad to face its direction of travel?

Is it possible to program a rotation so it flies around a point of interest while pointing at the object?

When you setup waypoints to fly, the Phantom will always be flying forward in the direction of the camera point to the waypoint.  You do have control of the angle of the camera only.  As of right now, DJI does not have programmed points of interest to incorporate into your mission flight.
