If DJI don't deliver the sdk quickly, I will try another product, the hubsan drone?

so im still wondering why they would support a drone like the spark, and not a 600 euro mavic mini 2. Not supporting it would take away so much use case for this drone, and the fact that the mavic mini 1 is actually supported is kind of outrageous to me if they would not support mini 2

Hi guys. I got the email today from dji sdk support.
It gives me hope. For follow me and other stuff.

SDK 5.0, I wonder how long it will take. Probably not until 2022. They been talking about ux5.0 for years. Still in beta and the code looks like it's meant to be obfuscated. Completly impossible to understand :-). Must be designed from a ui-designer that took one to many design courses.

Wonder if they break the current api or not. It will be interesting to see what they come up with!

Perhaps DJI wants me to sell my MINI 2 and go for the Hubsan Zino Mini Pro.
I will if they don't come with the release of SDK for the MINI 2
AND DJI........... don't forget the option D-cinelike on the MINI2

I have brought DJI Mini 2 assuming waypoints support and dronelink app will support it soon. Could you please inform me that DJI have any plan to release SDK for DJI mini 2 in near future?

I'm interested in the mini 2, but would not buy it without sdk support, simple as that

Interesting, I wonder where Litchi are getting that information as the Mobile SDK roadmap for June 2021 mentions nothing about the Mini 2

Can anyone suggest another brand for the recreational flier.  I bought mini 2 for eventual waypoint support and I am feeling betrayed.  Is there any other brand under 250mg.  If not, what do you suggest and I will take the 107 test.

So, I decided to ask their customer support, who directed me to their development mail adress so i think this email is accurate. They are saying the sdk supporting mini 2 will come out somewhere around september.

Also, I need ASAP SDK for Mini 2, it is not fair that the Mavic Mini supports it and not the Mini 2. DJI just won't even try to develop the capability of the Fly App for Autonomous Missions. So only SDK can save me, I made a mistake thinking that Dronedeploy per example supported any new DJI drone, but it does not.

Why the hell is there SDK support for Mavic mini and Spark?! And not for Mini 2.. I mean if such a toy as Spark got SDK, there should have been one for mini 2 a long time ago..

I have created a request on change.org for the DJI CEO to listen to this request from DJI Air 2 and Mini 2 users for SDK support. United we are stronger.

.. Because spark came before mini, and mini 2 is the newset int eh series, and as stated here they are updating in September and (apparently) will support the mini 2 next month.

Seems like support will come in MSDK 4.16 already, hopefully this month.

I take though that waypoints probably won't be supported due to the lack of avoidance sensor, like with original mini?

Waiting for SDK as well, was deeply shocked that it wasn't supported by all VR apps on the market due to that.
Was thinking to return my DJI Mini 2 after this, but after reading this forum decided to keep it and wait.

Are there any news? We are almost in October and we are waiting very anxiously. We look forward to feedback

Similarly, Support have updated my ticket with this. Wouldn't be in a hurry to buy a Mini 3 if it came out, seems better to wait for the SDK and benefit from the price drop:

Well that's too bad, I've been waiting for many months for the September release of the DJI Mini 2 SDK, now it looks like it's pushed back to December :-/  Arrrrgggghhhh.

Question now is … Stick and hope?  Or go elsewhere and not come back?

Just released my rosettadrone2 fork with mini 2 support on github, just search my repos, since i dont want to link it here.
also has support for the litchi style csv export from metashape for wp missions via virtstick.

It lloks very nice, but a bit too difficult for me, but I'll keep monitoring to see if it will become "safer" in the future

Seeing how difficult it is to convince DJI.  It would be more productive to convince the people of Hubsan mini pro, to put mapping options to their drone and bet on Hubsan.

I suspect that the release of such a slow sdk depends more on regulatory reasons and marketing logic than on technological difficulties, but I have no certainty. I hope it arrives as soon as possible.

no good. people must know how dji consider customers BEFORE to buy a Dji drone, in particular mini 2 and next mini 3. Till now no mini 2 sdk on horizon.

Yeah done with dji. Bought the Mavic mini and the 3rd party app support was awesome. As soon as the mini 2 came out I pulled the trigger because I wanted the extra range. I've check to see if the SDK has been released every couple months for the last year and there is nothing. Barely even a mention of it. I'm skeptical as to whether it even comes at all. Wish I wouldn't have sold my mini 1. Time to see what else is available.
