Have they mentioned they at least know this is a problem?

They know and don't care, their support only say that you need to use a device listed as compatible and if you don't have one you need to check the list and buy a compatible device.

Thats ridiculous considering its a bug in their app.

Same issue here and this will keep getting worse as a ton of people will buy the S21 ultra and the mini 2, myself I brought them at the same time! Very surprised to see 4K not working...

We all are. Dji not supporting the current most premium device in the market shows the lack of commitment with their customers.

It has been reported months ago, since its launch, and nothing was done.

Shame on you DJI, shame on you. And shame on the moderators here as well that advise us to buy a compatible phone instead of acknowledging the issue and guarantee that it will be fixed. I bet they didn't report this to any engineering team.

Hi! The same problem with S21 plus. Blind flight on 4K 30/25 FPS (video files on sd card are recorder fine). But it's OK at 4K 24FPS. Looks like it's well-known issue. See also this thread https://mavicpilots.com/threads/video-freezes-when-recording-in-4k.105836/

The issue seems to be fixed on 1.4.0 version of the app.

For those who did not notice at first, when on video mode, you can change recording options on the bottom, not a pop up menu anymore

Indeed it seems to be so, v1.4.0 seems to work! Just in the nick of time!

I tried using my Mavic Mini with my new Galaxy S21 Ultra yesterday. I was able to install the DJI Fly App 1.4.0 and all firmware updates with no problems. Then clicked on "Fly" afterwards and see only a black screen in live view. All settings options for the camera, etc. I see without problems, but unfortunately no image. Of course you can not fly with it, that is too dangerous. I am totally annoyed that the newest and most powerful phone on the market is not compatible ! What I absolutely do not understand: the Galaxy S21 is compatible. What kind of nonsense is that please. The phones only differ in performance.

Please take care of it and find a solution.

Yes I know sorry about that. I heard that is the same for Dji Go 4 and Mavic 2 Pro regarding S21 ultra Exynos. I can't believe it. In 2 days m2p is coming. Can't wait to test It by my self.

Hello, i also havd a samsung galaxy s21 ultra.  Does DJI plan to upgrade the DJI Fly App to be compatible?
If i need to purchase a mobile devices are there levels of compatibility or performance that differ by device. I know therr are compatibility lists, but i am prepared to seek a dedicated mobile device to use for the drones. Thanks

The only thing that I experienced with DJI, is there is hardly any contact, but they promised me to, and though solved my problem, for now.

It has been a while and still no update from DJI. I have a Samsung S21 and the live stream from the drone stopped working when I updated from DJI Fly app 1.3.0 to 1.4.0. I had to downgrade to version 1.3.0 in order to get the stream back.

My mini does not give me live cam view with my S21 Plus.... verry sad situation, i"m not changing the phone but maybe the drone....

I got it from the DJI website on a S21 Ultra and it seems to be working now on my A2S.  I wish it was in the play store so it would auto update but at least it works now!

Dude I'm about over how finicky dji drones, their customer service, the high pitch squeak when they focus, the full screen banner letting you know that the forward sensors aren't on so pay attention you don't hit anything, while you can't see anything. Dji is comical after you get one of their drones. New phone doesn't work why? Because the drones suck. Having to go buy something like an iPad to use the drone is lame. Got 4 dji drones for sale or trade!

it's sad that the latest version doesn't work with the s21 ultra I thought they would of fixed this by now (mini 2)

You did not install version 1.4.0.
This version is available on the site from DJI. In one of my posts I shared that link. It is NOT available in the play store, but I understood that in Samsung apps it is also available.

I have exynos
I had 1.4.0 worked fine
Now with 1.4.2 doesn't work
