What a terrible holder - same nonsense as the older version.
The clamps are not 'deep' enough to grip the phone and it pops out.

I have a case on it but it's adding a tiny amount - i'm not prepared to put a naked phone into this holder on a shoot.

I am looking for another phone holder with a cold shoe and i'll use the base of the ronin mount with it.

Any recommendations?

The Tilta TA-PMB-B is quite okay, flexible and take phones with a case on.

but it can't sit on the holder - it doesn't rotate so the cold shoe is 90 degrees to the holder - so when it's on the Ronin- how you you get the phone to be landscape?

I did not come over any phone holder that does rotate upright/landscape like the DJI one. If you need that function you might need to stick to DJI's one.

there are a few but they don't have a cold-shoe mount. It's annoying. SmallRig to an amazing one but it has a tripod plate built in.
