Hi all

Has anyone got this setup to work successfully? Or with a Ronin S?

We have linked up ok and the wheels work, but we can't change the speed of the wheels using the controls on the master wheels or anywhere else. Recenter works ok.

Can anyone who has done this post their settings - what mode and any other settings?

Or if DJI can give any assistance with this?

Thanks in advance, would appreciate any help.

Hello there, we are sorry to say currently it is supportive to change the gimbal parameter when using the RS2 with the Master Wheel. You can control the gimbal movements and recording. We will send this feedback to our product team to see if any solutions possible in the future.

Thanks for your understanding.

Thanks for your quick reply, but it should surely be possible to change the speed of the wheels, otherwise the functionality is very limited.

It would be good to see this improved in the future. It is a little misleading to say that the master wheels control the RS2 when you cannot adjust the speed, and the available speed setting is very slow!

Thanks, Chris

Hi Chris,
How did you manage to bind your RS2 to the Master Wheels?
I connected the wireless receiver to the S-bus of the focus and can’t make it bind.
Any tips?
Thanks
Martin

I have been using the Master Wheels and Ronin S with no problems. I'm looking at upgrading to the RS2, but can't find any info so far if this works other than your posts. I can't believe that there is no information out there about this.

I'd also like to know the answer to this. We're about to use this setup on a major streaming show and I really need to know whether it's going to work as it's for a specialist shot. When you say the wheels are very slow, how slow are we talking? Unusable or only suited to slow walking etc? Which receiver do you need to add to the gimbal to get the wheels to bind?

On the same topic, has anyone used a Red Komodo with PL lenses on an RS2?

Thanks in advance.

Did you manage to get this setup working in the end, and have they updated the ability to control speed with the wheels?

Yes it all seems to work OK with both the S and the RS2. The Nodo wheels also work very well with the S and RS2. I think the RS2 is essentially the same firmware but has better performance with a carbon fibre build, and of course you get the axis locks which you don't have with the S.

We tested with a Z-CAM and lightweight lenses. The little DJI focus seemed to work quite well also and helps to keep the rig small.

I'm not sure what the speed issue was in the end.

It would be good to read here of any issues or tips and I will try to post any feedback I have.

Yes I haven't done it but I know it has been done. Obviously lightweight lenses and pared down camera etc.

The cable you need is Ronin MX CAN cable to connect the wireless receiver to the port on the focus wheel on the Ronin S. You have to have the focus wheel in order to do this.
