There is not a consensus on if the hardware is installed and can be implemented with firmware once the standard is finalized, that is the hope!

Also with regards to US drone laws, the new implementation is for drones over .55 lbs and not recreational. So if you have an Mini 2 and fly recreationally you will not need Remote ID implemented as per current rules.

I just realized that in my area (and large portions of my small country), due to new EU regulations, DRI will be mandatory for devices like my Mini 3 Pro (purchased 2nd hand weeks ago) for any flight from 01/01/2024.
I guess the answer is: "sorry for you..." ?
