Is it my imagination but did the Group names change recently?  While it doesn't really matter to me becuase I participate in these forums for enjoyment and not just a "name". I'm curious as to why they changed. Or is it my old age and they've been this way for awhile?

I was an Intermediate Member  on my way to a Senior Member... Now I am a Hobbyist.  Was I demoted?  lol

Looks as though it changed yesterday.  I had gone from a "senior" membership to a "gold" membership prior to yesterday and now find myself an "intern" pilot (renamed from a "cub" pilot which is what I apparently was when the name change took effect).  And to ascend to the next plateau, "Second Officer," requires over 2,000 additional posts, and 24,000 additional posts to become a "Flight Instructor" level member.  Who on earth thinks people are going to post that much?

Yes they are permanent.

So whose idea was it to give prolific contributors to the group insulting newbie titles and set the message break points so much higher than the forum's average messaging rate that they will probably never change?  The company hasn't found enough other ways to alienate its base already?

Hi Pete,
Maybe the break points to a higher level/title are somewhat high.
And yes, you won't see many members here upgrading their level/title this way.

When i note at least 20 members sharing your opinion in this thread, i will notify the admin.
If it was up to me, i would go for   1/100/300/700/1000/2000/3000/10000

Here are the Group names and Credits

Dundee,
Like I said in my original post, the name really isn't important to me. I'm in the forum for the enjoyment and the people. However, the lack of communication from DJI is consistent.

If DJI would have given everyone some communication on the changes and why, it would be easier to deal with the change. The extra step would have been to ask our opinion first but lets take small steps at a time and just work on better communication.  With that said, ALL of us appreciate your contributions to the forum. I have several of your posts bookmarked!

Hey Dundee,

To determine the likelihood of 20+ parallel opinions I would have to know how many senior / gold memberships there were before the change.  Do I really care what forum group I'm in?  No, it just struck me that the way it was done was probably a poor PR move since those who WOULD notice would tend to be the most prolific (and generally the more helpful) posters.

Hi Pete,

I could run a query, but that would not make us any wiser.
The system is adding credits from all forums to only 1 credit counter per member.
Because of this, and imo, these credits can not reflect a title or groupname in a correct way.

But you made an important point on the subject here Pete.
