A video of a few clips I took in winter time, Waterfall Boven. Small little town in South Africa, with a rich history, awesome hiking trails, fly fishing venues and rock climbing.
I am trying to focus on drone videos I took, but never got to edit, or wanted to edit, as I am mostly concentrating on Photography, so join me in this learning process. Please take time to comment, give ideas, tips and usefull crits.
So, good or bad, this is what I came up with, for two days flying.
You know you are in South Africa, if a Truck needs to be pulled out and up a steep muddy, dirt road, by two tractors, and one drivers dog running in front to show the way.....
More so in real life.
Did you notice the little Jack Russel terrier running with them? He was quite the little gps. Gave me a heart attack more than once, running in front of the wheels etc. After they got the truck to the top, the little dog jumped up and made himself comfy on the tractor drivers lap for the ride home.
Thanks.
I do some Trout fishing, Rainbow, Brown and Golden. Also, Bass Big and Small mouth. They are not endemic to South Africa though.
I tie my own flies, which is a awesome hobby by itself.
The most fun is Yellow fish. Big fighters on a 5 weight rod. They grow up to 7kgs. Mostly target around 3kgs on very light tackle.
In Waterfall Boven, Trout gets stocked (fly only). Bass as well, but not a favorite.

lol, he looked like he'd done that before the little dog.
I think so too. Looks like they do this sort of thing (pulling trucks up the hill after it rained) quite a lot. Might be a bit of extra income. Will ask next time I see them.
Funny story, I tried to shoo the dog away, he was running in between the tractor tires etc. Front guy then politely told me it is his dog, and I should leave it alone.....

You're very welcome. Interesting that you tie your own flys. That can be very tedious work. Big fish on lightweight gear is always a fun time. Have a great day.
Nice views.
My tip would be to make the movements more continuous during the shot.
Now some of them are shorter.
Other than that, just hope to get better lighting next time
Charissa Posted at 2-28 09:42
Thanks Monty. So make some shorter? Continuous like in flying better, smoother gimbal, or same footage?
Make the movement continuous.
Press record and keep the drone flying in the same direction. (does not have to be straight, as long as it is continuously flying the same movement).
So you keep your fingers at the same place.
Usually it takes some seconds before the drone moves how I want it, so I cut that part out and only use the continuous part.

Get it. Cool easy video to follow along with. Nice tips. Thanks
Google translate or Afrikaans?
Afrikaans would be "Goed gedoen" but in Dutch, "Wel gedaan"
Both have the same nice meaning.
Wel gedaan with your translations.......

oh well, afrikaans is very similar to dutch / flemish, most words are just the same. And sometimes funny .....
When I watch your Video, I again thinking on, how phantastic and magical our Planet earth are. How different the landscape are, no matter where you go. There can be fully flat, and it can be the highest Mountain; it has all variations, somewhere out there!

That is absolutely true. And drones opened up a wonderful world to us all to enjoy.
