The Beemster and Schermer are Unesco World Heritage sites : an oasis of scenic polders, waterways, dikes,farms and restored mills.   These polders are cultural landscapes located north of Amsterdam, dating from the early 17th century, and an exceptional example of reclaimed land in the Netherlands Did you know? There is a rumor going around that the streetplan of Manhattan is based on the Polderpattern of The Beemster?  Please sit back and enjoy this brief flight over these wintery landscapes.
