So, I recently found out that the Mavic MINI and MINI 2 are flown using a new app called DJI fly. It is sort of similar to DJI Go 4 and DJI Go, but I guess it is upgraded. However, the new app is not compatible with many devices. Here are the devices that DJI listed compatible with DJI fly:

For Apple Users:

iOS V 1.2.4

Requires iOS 11.0 or above.

There may be other devices compatible, but these were listed on the DJI website. NOTE: if you have a device that DOES NOT HAVE A CHARGING PORT, it is not compatible with the drone. However, if you have a slightly out-of-date phone, the DJI fly app will not appear at all. Even if it does appear, you might not be able to download it. This is because DJI’s new technology requires better phones.

SOLUTION:

There are many third-party apps you can use. However, some of these cost money, most over 24 dollars. However, the Rainbow for DJI app is compatible with the Mavic MINI! It is free, (The pro version is 24 dollars), but flying, recording videos, and taking photos are all possible in the free version. So, if you DO have a Mavic MINI and are thinking about returning it because the app is not working on your phone, PLEASE DOWNLOAD Rainbow for DJI and try it out!
