I finally got it to work, but it was not simple.
I had to download the FPV version of DJI Assistant 2 from here: https://www.dji.com/downloads/softwares/dji-assistant-2-dji-fpv-series
The goggles still wouldn't connect to it, but I was able to connect both the remote controller and drone and update the firmware on each of them.
Once I did that, I got a different screen in the goggles saying that they had a bad firmware version. Then, when I connected them to the computer running Assistant it was able to update the goggle firmware.
Then, when I connected them to my phone with DJI Fly 1.3.0 (which you need to load manually on your phone from here, the one in the Play Store doesn't work: https://www.dji.com/downloads/djiapp/dji-fly) it finally popped up the activation screen and I was able to activate the drone.
I still haven't been able to fly it, because it's night. And it's supposed to rain for several days, so it might be a while. But at least I'm over this hurdle. |
