So Been using the DJI Mini 2 just under a month now and the past 2 days I have noticed some issues with the gimbal. I have never crashed or damaged the drone or anything but I have noticed that when I am in Cinematic or Normal mode that the gimbal does not stay in place and a lot of the time it seems to move as shown in the footage below as well as a screen recording I have linked.

It also seems to move up when Im not even doing anything or adjusting the gimbal.

I have also re calibrated the IMU and compass many times but dosent seem to do anything.

Has anyone came across this issue before, is it a fault and do I need to get it repaired or is it a software related issue as only had it since I updated the firmware 2 days ago?

All the footage below had no movement done to the gimbal so you can see how it is moving without me doing anything.

Anyway, we'd like to ask if you already tried performing a gimbal calibration and if there's any ND filter attached to the gimbal camera during the time you're testing it. Hi, I have tried all the calibrations on everything many times but unfortanley has not made a diffrence and still expirencing the issues. I also havent used any ND filters and these issues only came when I had updated the firmware on my drone, do you think this issue is related to the firmware update as I havent crashed or damaged my gimbal and have only had my drone for a week?

Hi,

Sorry, it appears I didn’t explain the issue properly. Having done research online, I have found that many other people are experiencing this exact same problem. The actual problem is actually the gimbal being off level horizon or not straight and the drifting is the gimbal trying to recenter which it fails to do due to the firmware update affecting this level horizon.


I know all this because a well known Youtuber came across the exact same video and showed it in a video verifying that the issue I had as well as many others is a firmware issue and that nothing is wrong with my unit. Please watch the video he did to give yourself a full understanding of the issue as it is explained very well here.
