There's a rather large solar farm a few miles away from where I live, so took a trip out with the new Mavic Air 2.

As I was coming to the nd of the farm, I heard a low flying aircraft, couldn't see it against the sun, I was at 110 metres so legal, but did cause me to drop quite quickly until I saw it was much higher than it sounded!

Great job Chris.    Too bad DJI deactivated Air sense for all but flyers in the US.  It is a very handy safety feature.  I've been alerted many times of low flying helicopters.

Thank you, I speeded it up 3x as was 90 seconds long and I was bored watching it back!
That train line is a hobby line, nothing running due to CV19, sadly!

Apparently the new drones shipping to the UK has it but its not activated in software.  You can tell by the model number - there were a few threads here about it.

Aha,  found it,  if the model ends in 3W you have the air sense hardware.   You can also double check that by using fake gps to a usa location.

Thank you, sounds a bit 'black hat' to be faking GPS location etc...A few on here doing that in the UK, to get max distance? The new OcuSync easily good for ahem 1500metres on the Air 2 (so I'm told!!)

Thank you, they dislike people flying over there, removed my earlier video from their FB and the mod sent quite a snotty message about not flying...so naturally just waiting for Summer and them to start operating again so I can improve my flying skills at tracking their trains

Interesting images, thanks for sharing. I live within a couple of miles of a fairly active airport, and the alerts pop up on my display frequently, although most of the aircraft indicated are not very close at all.

There’s no option to switch that on in the UK, currently. Unless as  @DAFlys says, the drone has it installed and we ‘fool’ the gps into thinking that we’re not in the UK.
Anything that makes us safer pilots though is a good thing.

Hope they do, as I said it is a very handy feature.  

Nice view of the solar array.  A slower flyover might have been preferable.
