Was the Air Unit just a bridge product that will now be phased out now that the DJI FPV drone has been released?

Will we ever see an Air Unit V2?  Will the air Unit V1 ever get another firmware update? The last one was in July 2020.

You can use it with the V2 goggles, you only have to change the  goggles from 5.8ghz to 2.4

What additional benefit does the V2 Google provide for the V1 Air Unit user? Not much.  Certainly not worth upgrading if you have V1 goggles already.

Is this how DJI's short 1 year flirtation with open systems end?  With "no comment"?  I guess all the detractors were right.....

Yeah...  I agree with you mc54...  While DJI, in my opinion, have the best FPV goggles for now, that is just for now and I think we've learned a lesson that we will not fall for this again.  Horrible PR, DJI Stephen...  

I hope fatshark come with something good later this year. I will switch easy. DJI is too big for the fpv

I kept my HD2's just in case DJI pulled something like this.

You are right, I did the same but, I just bought V2 goggles (I have V1's as well), and heard about the the update problem and no video out that was announced before the premiere. DJI, they just don't deliver things.

Surely this has to happen sometime? A new air unit could connect to the new controller and DJI would sell more controllers. People would also upgrade to the new air units and potentially sell off their other controllers.
